The biggest difference between EE and The Mummy...

Is the feeling of spaciousness. EE feels huge and expansive. ROTM feels crammed. WDW had all the space (both width and height) they could possibly need, and it feels that way when you're on the ride. USF had to fit ROTM into a pre-constructed building, and it definitely feels that way when you're on it.

I think the only advantages ROTM has are the quicker accelerations and launches. And its last drop, while quite a bit smaller than EE's drop, definitely feels steeper and is in total darkness. But other than that, there is no comparison. I am a big time Universal fan, but EE blows ROTM to pieces.

The Mummy gives you some great airtime especially on the launch. From all the talk the EE’s ride time is like 4 minutes while the mummy is like 2 minutes with all the stops. We can only hope EE does not have all the technical problems that the Mummy did.

about how big is the drop in Revenge of the Mummy?

I think I read somewhere that it's only about 25 feet... BUT... it packs a punch... it's very steep and twists to the left at the bottom while dropping into a orange/red fog pit and you get GREAT air time... one of the best parts of the ride.

Everest is closer to 3 minutes...if you subtract out the time spent on both lift hills, the ride length is probably similar to RotM's, even though EE's track is twice as long. If you want airtime on EE down the big drop, sit in the back seat...

Hmmm...I was expecting to see something mentioned about the backwards portion. Personally, I think the biggest difference is how much longer the backwards portion of EE is compared to ROTM. The first time I rode it (and by the way, LOVE the ride), the backwards portion on ROTM felt almost pointless. *shrugs*

You are totally right, and yes I failed to mention that. ROTM's backwards portion is over before it begins, and there's that obnoxious brake too.

I like Mummy the 1st time I rode it. I liked the sudden stop and the backward hill. We rode it again later in the day and it didn't have a return appeal. I haven't ridden EE yet. My favorite is TOT, you can ride over and over and not get the same ride.
