Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I've read plenty of these and never made one myself, but we're about to embark on the most epic of Disney endeavors - a 17-person bachelorette party - so I thought it would be as good a time as any to chronicle the experience.
The backstory: I went to law school with the bride, S, and the two of us and our third friend from law school, L, all grew up going to Disney World with our families. S's family still belongs to the Vacation Club (home resort Boardwalk). We've all been to the World together before. All of us aspire to have Disney bachelorettes one day, but S is the first one to get engaged and her parents were very generous in allowing us to use their points, so we're lucky enough to be staying at the Villas at the Grand Floridian. L and I are going down a day early to make sure we get all of our mandatory Disney kicks in before the other 15 (!!!) bachelorette attendees arrive (fourteen gals and one gentleman). This has been a very fun undertaking. L and I are both bridesmaids, but neither the maid nor matron of honor have ever been to Disney before, so me, S, S's dad, and L have contributed the majority of the Disney-related planning. The highlight of the planning process was a four-way call that took place between S, S's dad, and a vacation club rep. Between trying to get fastpasses, dining reservations, coordinate who is in which room, where to ship the magic bands, and Magical Express bookings, it's been a true exercise in logistical planning. We're very excited, though, for what is sure to be our best Disney trip yet, and to celebrate S's marriage to a wonderful guy!
So,
The Who: C (me), S (the bride), L, and 14 other 26-29 year-old young professionals.
The Where: 5/27-5/28 at Port Orleans Riverside (C&L), 5/28-5/31 the Villas at the Grand Floridian.
Looking forward to bringing you along on this adventure!
