The Better Pixar Coaster: Monsters Inc or Finding Nemo

Well that whole Monsters Inc Coaster idea sounded pretty good before the D23, but since this years' conference was border-line useless for WDW, the concept may still be a few years away.

However, I thought it would be interresting to discuss the possibilities of that coaster. The doors from Monsters Inc would be pretty nuts, but when I read of a Pixar coaster, I thought of the EAC in Finding Nemo.

I know there already is a Finding Nemo themed attractions (at Epcot if I had to be precise), but my personal thoughts are that it would still be an acceptable theme.

Anyone care to comment or add a suggestion?

Nemo has one of the best Disney coasters on any property (Crush's Coaster at Disney Studios Paris). You ride in shells and "surf" the E.A.C. Definitely up to par with Space Mtn. (imo).

Not that I would mind seeing a Monsters Inc coaster one day.

^ Yep. :D

Also, the thing that was most impressive to me about the doors scene in Monsters Inc was the enormous scale of the room that they were contained in. A ride based on that scene might be fun, but I don't think there's any way that the scale of that room could be recreated in that little building next to Midway Mania.

So for that reason, of the two options, I would go with Nemo.

But if I had to go with any option, I would definitely prefer a more family friendly ride (maybe a less intense version of Spiderman?) based on the Incredibles. Then that ride could remain completely unique to Pixar Place - which TSMM and the Crush Coaster wouldn't be.

Yeah, a family friendly ride would be good for the area, considering the Pixar theme. But do you think an Incredibles coaster would "fly"? The two other themes are made for coasters, and there is the lack of a FAMILY FRIENDLY coaster at DHS; but like I said, a similator-like ride based on the incredibles is a good idea

I personally don't think the new ride should be a coaster at all - even family coasters have height restrictions (Crush's Coaster has a height requirement of 3'6"). And rides without ride restrictions is something that DHS is currently seriously lacking (which, I think, is partly responsible for the insane amount of demand for Midway Mania).

I think maybe the pods from Syndrome's Island might be a cool conveyance. Or, if Disney could find a way to do something like the Spiderman vehicles, or simplifying the Dinosaur-type vehicle to a gentler leaning and rolling motion (like, say, the bouncing scene in Pooh), than that would be a great fit for a special effects-based Incredibles ride.
