==== The Alternate History Timeline: What if Disney's Animal Kingdom had more attractions: Welcome to The Alternate History Timeline: What if Disney's Animal Kingdom had more attractions in this blog I will create an Alternate History Timeline for Animal Kingdom where the park is built with a higher budget then in our reality due to Euro Disneyland never failing in this Alternate Reality bringing in record profits to the company that is used to achieve Michael and Frank's Grand Disney Decade plan that included major expansions, new attractions, new hotels, new experiences, new parks and new resorts in the Disney Parks division including at Walt Disney World and it's four parks which includes Animal Kingdom. Disney's Animal Kingdom in this Alternate History is built with a larger budget that will allow for more things for guests to do and it also will allow for the phase 2 expansion to be completed by 5th year of operations ensuring Animal Kingdom stays successful and popular with guests for years to come who will visit one of the most immersive and highly themed Disney Parks in the world alongside DisneySea, Epcot, Westcot, Disneyland Paris and Both Disney Studios parks which are all better then in our reality but more on that in future Alternate History blogs let's keep the focus on Animal Kingdom from development to 2028 in this Alternate History timeline blog.

==== The Alternate History Timeline: What if Disney's Animal Kingdom had more attractions Part 1: The Development and Construction of a new species theme park====

1990: It's 1990 1 year after the hugely successful opening of Disney MGM Studios the 3rd Walt Disney World theme park that started a new era of expansion for WDW that will accelerate throughout the 90's Disney Decade but as result of the success of the 3rd Gate of Disney World Disney CEO Michael Eisner comes up with an idea for a Animal based 4th theme park for Walt Disney World to bring the world of animals, nature and conversation to guests visiting the vacation kingdom. Soon after Michael shares his grand idea for an Animal theme park a team of junior Imagineers lead by Joe Rhode a currently unknown Imagineer raise to the challenge of creating this Animal theme park for Walt Disney World and they immediately brainstorm through 1990 which leads to the first draft map of the park that is still 8 years from opening and 5 years from making Joe Rhode a well known legendary Imagineer.

1991: It's now 1991 the development of Animal Kingdom
continues and early plans are shared by Joe and his team to Michael and Frank who like what they see so much that a research trip is greenlit to help Imagineers further develop the park. A couple months later Joe and his team travel to Africa to research the natural wonders, people, cultures and wildlife of the continent to help them develop plans for the park that will become Animal Kingdom throughout 1991 by taking many research trips around the world so much that it extends into next year and by the end of the year the development phase begins to evolve going through many revisions and presentations as the park gets closer to construction in 4 years.

1992: It's now 1992 the newest Disney Park Euro Disneyland opened
instantly becoming a massive success with record profits and attendance that will last through the whole Disney Decade forever changing Disney Parks for the better due to success of Euro Disneyland in this Alternate Reality timeline bringing so much money to fund all the plans Michael and Frank have for Disney Parks in the Disney Decade. Meanwhile back in Imagineering Joe and his team continue the development of Animal Kingdom with more concepts and plans emerging and throughout 1992 Joe and his team take more research trips around the world to Africa, Asia, Australia and The Americas to start developing the ideas and themed areas of Animal Kingdom before presenting it to Michael and Frank again after many presentations throughout the last 1 year and 6 months but Joe is slowly creating his masterpiece Disney Park for the world that is 6 years from becoming reality and 3 years from starting construction in Florida.

ak carousel.jpg

1993: It's now 1993 the development of Animal Kingdom starts to enter the next phase of it's planning including deciding on the themed areas, attractions and central icon of the park a process that will see constant changes during the next 2 years of development and the 3 years of construction the park will have. Throughout 1993 the park keeps going through changes that will lead it to becoming the beloved Animal Kingdom theme park and the most constantly changing part of the park's entrance and central icon going from an Ark entrance/icon to a lush garden with a central icon fountain before becoming an Animal Carousel/Spinner central icon structure but Joe and his team keep having to revise the icon/entrance plans along with the rest of the park throughout 1993 as Michael and Frank prepare to share the park to the world but first the greenlit of the park must happen before this milestone occurs. Later in 1993 Joe and his team come up a tree icon for the park along with a central island that will be like the main street of the park but with a hub and spoke design leading to the themed areas of the park that will represent real, extinct and mythical animals to excite and inspire guests who will visit Animal Kingdom in 5 years time bringing a unique Disney park to the world.
ak tree of life 1.jpg

1994: It's now 1994 Disney is well into the Disney Decade that is expanding existing Parks and Resorts around the world and bringing new Disney Parks and Resorts around the world lead by The Imagineers under the leadership of Michael and Frank which will continue until 2005 because in this Alternate History timeline Frank never takes the infamous ski trip that he did not survive in our reality in this Alternate Reality he lives well into the new century ahead. Later in 1994 Joe and his team prepare the final drafts of the park along with the Tree of Life icon being finalized into the 155 foot beautiful central icon we know and love today and then in Summer 1994 Joe Rhode presents the park plans to Michael, Frank and company executives in a wild presentation they will never forget because Joe brings in a live tiger to the board room showing them the thrill of wild animals in front of them showcasing the excitement and inspiration the park will bring to guests which is a success for executives who immediately green lights Animal Kingdom theme park the 4th park for Walt Disney World that will forever change it yet again in 4 years from now in 1998 on the dawn of the new Millennium 1 year before Islands of Adventure opens in 1999 but next year the announcement of the park to the world and construction it's will begin bringing the park closer to completion and make Joe Rhode a Disney Imagineering legend known by fans around the world as the creator of Animal Kingdom one of the greatest Disney Parks in the world.

==== The Alternate History Timeline: What if Disney's Animal Kingdom had more attractions Part 2: The Opening and first five years of Animal Kingdom 1998-2003==== 1998 Continued
R (5).jpg

The Countdown to Extinction is a Dinosaur themed Time Traveling EMV Dark Ride where guests board a CTX Time Rover and travel back in time to the very end of the Cretaceous period before the meteor impacted the Earth leading to the Extinction of the Dinosaurs. Once guests enter the main entrance of Countdown to Extinction they begin their visit to the Dino Institute a scientific and educational center where their mission is research and educate people about Dinosaurs and what the world was like for from 65 million years ago their mission and work is now being shared to the public since opening it's doors to the public so the people visiting Digs County can learn more about Dinosaurs but unknown to guests visiting the Dino Institute today they will be going back in time in a time rover to see Dinosaurs now let's get back to the Dino Institute as guests begin their tour they go through the Dinosaur Exhibit/educational gallery full of small exhibits about dinosaurs including fossil displays in addition Dinosaur exhibits guests will also see exhibit displays about modern animals that trace back to Dinosaurs and the scientific theories about how dinosaurs went extinct after this guests head into an eight sided central atrium room with artist renderings of what the age of dinosaurs might have looked like on the upper parts of the walls along with Dinosaur fossils and sedimentary rocks with fossils inside on the lower parts of the wall beyond the exhibit elements on the walls guests will find a Carnotaurus Skeleton in the center of the room and a large globe featuring Pangaea along with a rod connected to the globe for with measurements of thousands and hundreds of miles to show how far the meteor that impacted causing the extinction of Dinosaurs had to travel as guests are waiting for their Dino Insitute presentation the lights in the atrium room dim from time to time for small lectures by Bill Nye the Science Guy who talks about different facts and theories about the age of dinosaurs using elements around the room to help explain them to guests after guests are done waiting they are directed to one of 2 identical pre-show rooms themed as presentation rooms once all guests are in the room the lights dim and the Dino Insitute presentation begins the director of the Insitute Dr. Helen Marsh introduces herself and talks about how the old way of displaying prehistory is about to become extinct thanks to the Dino Insitute's newest creation the CTX Time Rover that can take guests back to age of the dinosaurs intended to take guests to breathtaking world to witness the most fantastic creatures to walk the earth after this Dr. Marsh transfers to live feed from the control center for a safety briefing from Dr. Grant seeker where he decides to skip most of the safety notes and talks about his intentions to use the Time Rover to capture and save a Iguanodon from extinction with guests help who instead of going on a tour have been sent on a mission by Dr.Seeker but then Dr. Marsh comes into the control room to correct a misstatement saying the tours are intended to go the Early Cretaceous Period not the end of it and that the time rovers are locked into those coordinates after this Dr. Seeker continues the safety breifing talking about ride safety and the important fact that no flash photos are allowed on the tours then Dr. Marsh leaves the control center which is when he unlocks the time coordinates to the very end of the Cretaceous after this the pre-show room exit doors open and lights turn back on so guests can exit into a Dino Insitute themed hallway and as guests exit they hear Dr. Seeker reminding them to not tell anyone about their mission after going into the hallway guests head into the Underground themed Time Rover research facility before heading down stairs or down an elevator to a special ADA access area in the unloading side of the dual load and unload area that can handle 2 Time rovers 1 for each station side once guests reach loading and board their CTX Time Rover they fasten their seatbelt before their Time Rovers move up to the seatbelt check after this guests Time Rovers leave the load/unload area heading to the seatbelt check area before turning right through a security check as alarms and flashing lights go off indicating they have detected Dr. Seeker's modified time coordinates making the Time Rover unauthorized to continue their trip back in time but Dr. Seeker decides to ignore the warning alarms and moves the CTX Time Rover forward into the Time Tunnel where flashing lights and mist create the time portal sending guests back time 65 million years ago once the Time Rover exits the time portal guests in the Time Rover are now in a Prehistoric Forest before Earth is impacted by a meteor after arriving in the forest they encounter a Styraosaurus, an Alioramus eating a small dinosaur, a hardrosaur and a raptor all detected by the rover computer as a small meteor shower occurs after this Dr. Seeker who is driving the Time Rover locks onto the signal of the dino tracker as the rover turns left the ride becomes more bumpier as the scanner built into the Time Rover pick up a big dinosaur which Seeker thinks is the Iguanodon he then brings the Time Rover to a stop but then something goes wrong when guests find out the big dinosaur is a angry and hungry carnivorous Carnotaurs who starts roaring and moves closer to the rover as lava geysers erupt immediately causing Dr. Seeker to rapidly speed the rover away before the scanner picks up another dinosaur rovers come to a near stop finding out it's a sauropod plant eating dinosaur before the time rover rapidly speeds up within seconds again as a timer begins to countdown that the meteor impact that causes the extinction of dinosaurs is 90 seconds from impact and the rover starts picking up even more speed getting bumpier and more thrilling as a scanner detects a pterodactyl that is flying directly towards the rover causing to drive down a small hill and dodges the dinosaur now in total darkness the rover speeds through the forest and picks up a pack of small dinosaurs on the scanner running through the forest with them before the rover falls down a small hill and loses traction as the same Carnotaurs guests have seen before appears in front of them and walks toward the time rover more angrier as Seeker turns on the four wheel drive system and successfully gets the rover away from Carnotaurs before it gets the riders then the rover starts making evasive maneuvers to dodge asteroids in the dark after dodging them successfully the rover comes across the Carnotaurs again who begins to roar and lunge at the rover as an on-ride photo is taken before the rover takes off again into a small section of forest where some of the trees start falling down as the scanner finds the Iguanodon but decides to abort the mission to bring the time rover back to the present day as the Asteroid is about to strike and then a tree nearly falls on the rover but the Iguanodon catches the tree and rover proceeds forward as a net catches the Iguanodon through a projection cast of an animatronic as the asteroid strikes the ground causing a bright flash as the Carnotaurs appears in front of the rover again lunging at the rover again but at the last second the time tunnel portal opens returning the Time Rover to the Institute where Dr. Seeker Congratulates guests for a successful mission capturing the Iguanodon and for making it back to the Institute as the time rover turns left and heads back to the loading station while tv monitors show the Iguanodon roaming around the dino institute once the Time rover is back at the loading station the riders unfasten their seatbelts and exit the rover on the left or right side of the rover depending if the rover goes to Station A( Left side) or B( Right side) to unload/load once guests unload their rover guests climb up stairs back to ground level or by elevator back up to ground level for guests using the special ADA loading area in the unload side of Station A while guests head back up to Ground level the next set of guests load into the Time Rover once guests are back on Ground level they exit into the Dino Insitute Shop where they can see their on-ride photo and in the shop guests can see Dr. Marsh and Dino Insitute employees attempting to chase down the Iguanodon and Dr. Seeker on the overhead tv monitors guests can also hear the radio chatter about what is going on. Much like Hollywood, Animal could use more attractions to pull people in a different location and direction. Perhaps the left side between Pandora and Africa, between Africa and Asia and a redo of Dinoland.
