Has anyone been to US/IOA on Thanksgiving weekend? What is the crowd level like? I looked at the 2008 operating calender and it showed the parks were closed by 7p on Thursday, 8pm on Saturday & Sunday. Is it just not crowded? For it being a holiday weekend you would think the crowd level would be high enough to warrant staying open till 10p or Midnight.

Not sure what was up with the park hours, but yes, Thanksgiving weekend is generally quite busy. You'll be looking at 60+ min. waits at most of the major attractions.

Thanks for the info. So do you think that was a typo on their operating hours? It seems if you have that many people in your park you would keep the park open later

Not always the case, when you stay open till 10 or later, the numbers do decrease in the parks, making it not as profitable. If you close at eight, majority of the people are still in the parks, and they all leave at once. This also gives Universal the advantage of dumping the people out into City Walk to eat, drink, and party if they wish, rather than just leaving at a later time because it's late.

Just because a place stays open late, doesn't mean the people will fill it. Not everyone stays from open till close, and those with kids head home when the kids get tired, cranky, or they might just have "had enough" and call it a day.
