Thanksgiving Day Booked?

Checked for booking Thanksgiving dinner last night on the WDW website and to my surprise, almost no resort hotel restaurant showed availability after 5pm. All I could find was Maya Grill and that was at like 7pm. I usually do Boatwright's but have opted for Olivia's and Shutters in the past. Even the in-park restaurants were limited in availability. Ended up with Hollywood Brown Derby.

I can't believe it. Am I seriously too late to get much choice? Any chance that they just haven't opened up that evening for booking yet fro some reason? I'm so disappointed for this year's turkey dinner.

We got an afternoon table at the Captain's Grille at Yacht Club last year. It was a very good Thanksgiving appropriate buffet, and not totally sold out. That was an afternoon table though, not evening. We booked a little under 180 days (maybe 170 or so) and everything in parks was totally booked at that point. No tables at any time of day for the places serving Thanksgiving meals. Not a whole lot was open at the resorts in the afternoon - we didn't look for the evening. Since we are only about 130 days out, I have a feeling it really is too late to get many choices.

We went around this time last year and I recall a lot of people scrambling for any kind of ADR on Thanksgiving. I wouldn't give up all hope though. While it's a very busy day of the year and you'll likely need to be flexible with times and restaurants, I'm sure things will open up here and there- especially as you get closer to your travel dates. i.e. people canceling their trips or dropping ADRs (i.e. the people who double book) So, you may just need to stalk over the next few months.

You might want to be a stalker daily and watch for the Cali reservations to open up, as of yet they haven't.

For our past four trips, we have gone to WDW for Thanksgiving. You really need to book an ADR close to the 180 day mark. This year, I went to book my Thanksgiving ADR at Prime Time for dinner at the 180+10 mark on-line at 6AM and it said there was no availability. I also noticed that many of the restaurants said the same thing. I then called at 7AM and had no problem getting my reservation. I would try to call Disney. If you still don't have any luck, keep checking. Last year, we wanted Captain's Grill for the Thanksgiving buffet. We couldn't get it at at the 170 ish mark, but around mid- July a bunch of tables opened up (I don't know if they released more) and we ended up getting to pick when we wanted to eat there. Moral of story: keep trying.

Many hotels (Disney and non-Disney) do Thanksgiving buffets. Try for one of those. And keep checking. You never know when ere will be a cancellation.

Good luck!!
