Thanksgiving at Disney - Restaurant Choices?

For reasons only known to my MIL, :brick: she'd like to have Thanksgiving dinner at our hotel the Contemporary.

So I'm trying to decide on reservations between the California Grill or Chef Mickey ... two totally different animals I know.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced a holiday dinner at either of these places and has any input. (We'll be dining with DH and my 2 DDs, 7 and 5, if that makes any difference.)

I've also heard that the California Grill offers great views of fireworks - true, not true? And if it's true, are my chances pretty slim of securing a fireworks view table on T'giving ... or is it luck of the draw?

You will not believe the view of the fireworks from the California Grill until you experience it. For Christmas Eve 200, I sat at the window eating dinner with my boyfriend and the restaurant lights dimmed and he said "it would be great if they pumped the music in here" and there it was! The view was spectacular and I will never forget it!
