Hi there, thanks for all the help deciding on what resort to spend a romantic night alone in for our 10th wedding aniversary. As mentioned before our next trip to WDW will be Aug 13 to 22 and celebrating a very special event for us. Since BIL and SIL will be spending a few nights at our DVC OKW resort with us we thought we would leave them with Little PhD and get away for one night. (it will be our 1st night away alone in over 2 years)
Well it turns out even with AP rate GF was too pricey for us (when you already have a room, you don't want to spend close to 300 for another). Still kinda sad about this, but hey there is always our 20th to stay at GF!
But we called CR tonight and spoke and found a very helpful cast member. We now have a room for one night at AKL for only 127 a night (with tax). It is a standard view, but Billy Marie said she put down it was our aniverasy, so maybe the will upgrade us if there is room. She also stated that this week there was no rooms anywhere on WDW property! (our ressie is in 2 weeks and almost every Deluxe had openings.)
We have never stayed (or even visited) ALK before and are really looking forward to it. Is the pool there as good as everyone says? Is it good for todlers? (I know she won't be with us, but if it is really good for little ones mabye BIL and SIL will bring her over to use it.)
We have PS for Califorina Grill that night, but am wondering if we should try to get in a place at ALK instead. What do you think?
Thanks again to everyone that helped us come up with a plan.
