Test Track Notes and ideas

I went on Test Track yesterday with a co-worker....wait was 60 minutes and we were waiting to use FP+ at MK, so we tried the single rider line.

They had the kiosks set up, but the only choices were for your favorite of the 4 things "effeciency, power, handling" or whatever, then choose one of 8 styles of cars....that was it.

Disappointed, I remembered I had a saved car from about a month ago and wondered if I could just use that one again.....the answer is no, what it did do, however when I used my (AP) card at the boarding area was gave me a random car....kinda cool idea instead of saying "you don't have any cars".

Quick tip for those who aren't aware or haven't been. If you want to save time by using the Single Rider line, but still want the full design experience, Go to the ride exit area FIRST and there is a place where you can do the full car design thing at your own pace....save it, then get in line.

While I was in line though, I thought, since they're promoting the heck out of this MyMagic app, why not have the car design stuff on there, then people can bypass that (somehow) at the attraction, saving about 10 minutes in the process.

We rode single rider today. Waited about 20 minutes and actually got placed in the same vehicle. I have yet to do the complete car design since I think we've only done single rider since it was updated. The last time we rode standby was before the update.

Once all of us lowly AP get bands we'll likely ride together FP+ Do you do the full design then?

I did want to point out that we rode with a family with two children and the boy, about 6 or 7 was totally stoked to see his design up on the screens as we went through the tests. And when his monster-truck looking vehicle ended up winning at the end, he gave his dad a big high five. He was so proud. I know some folks aren't fans of TT 2.0, but when I catch moments like that, I'm feel a little justified for liking it better than the original.

I only did FP- once before the update to FP+ and we were routed through to the main design area and were able to do the full process....it seemed like a temporary/makeshift thing, so I can't say if that is how it's usually set up.

The FP line is a joke for TT! They merge the FP an stand by line way to early in the que...had to wait 40 minutes with FP and 40 min with my kid swap pass back in Nov and it wasn't even crowded at the park...
