Does anyone know what the threshold is for Disney closing the waterparks for cold weather reasons? Thanks!

I think it's around the 40s or somewhere there, even if it's only at night.

Hotel pools, however, don't seem to follow the same rules. I was at French Quarter on a weekend the water parks were closed and the pool operated as normal. That's as much as I know.

I wouldn't go unless it's 75-plus anyway. Obviously their temperature threshold is much lower than mine. But I guess if you are flying in from the North, our ideas of cold are much different.

I've been away from Ohio too long I guess.

It's seems like its usually around 65 degrees and below that they close them. They say it's the 50s but I've seen them both closed for 62 and wind.

Thanks. That's actually pretty warm...I really hope you're wrong :)

Does anyone have any historical knowledge as to whether the water parks are usually open in mid-February? I know TL is closed (sob!) but I'm hoping to get to Blizzard Beach the third week of Feb.

Historical knowledge? Basically it's a game of luck. Feb should be better than Jan, but I've been down there for the Marathon (first weekend after NYE usually) and had freezing rain (32-33 degrees) and sweltering heat (90 degrees) on different years. This years trip I do believe BB was closed most days due to the fact it hung around in the 50s or so. But we did have days where it hit 80 also. Pack your bathing suit and cross your fingers.

I from Philly, and while the 50s isn't cold, it ain't exactly Palm Beach either. I went in December 2012, and the temps were all over the place. Mid 30s when we got in at night, with quite a kick to the wind. As we exited our rent-a-car to check in, we saw an empty stroller rolling across the parking lot, pushed by the gusts of wind A foreboding start, but it IS The Most Magical Place on Earth, and dark magic is still magic!

You guys have a different definition to 'cold' than us Brits. Honestly I've visited parks in shorts and t-shirt when CM's have had hats, coats and gloves on :)

Me too! We're going next week, and temps will range anywhere from the high 30s to mid-70s. I will only be bringing one sweater. Pass the sunscreen, it's time to work on my tan!
