Hello Friends! My 12 yr old son rode this ride for the first time in October and is now a fan and has delved into learning as much as he can about the ride. He is trying to figure out how many elevator cars are operating at any given time in the ride _ I guess the maximum that can go and how they'd cycle through the 4 load zones and 2 drop shafts. He knows there are 8 Elevator "cars" in all but we cannot figure out how many are running and how. Any help would be a blessing! Merci!!

I believe there are actually 10 vehicles overall, 5 on each side. But only 4 can run at one time on each side (for a total of 8). The extras are kept in the two shops.

It's just like RnRC. They physically have 5 trains, but only run 3 or 4 at once.

He has looked at that website but is still searching to find out how many cars are actually able to be operating within the attraction at a time and how - ex. one is loading while one is in the drop elevator and another is in the 5th dimension room...He is really trying to figure this whole thing out! Thanks!

If everyone is hitting like their supposed to, you'd have one loading, one in the corridor or 5th, one in the drop shaft and one at unload. If something happens like unload backing up you'll have two waiting at unload, one in the 5th and one in the corridor. If you only have one lift running on a side you'd have one at load and two or three at unload.

If he's like my son you will discover him building his own replica of the Tower of Terror out of Lego's.

I know there is a flash animation floating around somewhere that lets you "control" the Haunted Mansion (run the vehicles, load and unload the stretch rooms, etc.), but wasn't there one too for Tower? Anyone remember this?

Here it is.

As far as I know, 8 cars are in operation at a time. 2 sides, each with 1 car loading, 1 car ascending through show scenes, 1 car dropping, and 1 car unloading, I believe.
