Tech application

Hi all, I'll try to keep it simple. I grew up in Central Florida, but moved to Arkansas 5 years ago. I have wanted to work for Disney for several years. I have a BA in Technical Theatre. The last time that the Entertainment Stage Technician job was posted (March '13), I applied. Between then and the beginning of April, I had 2 interviews for the position. I was then called and told by my recruiter that they all found me to be very favorable to work in both lighting and audio, but didn't have any openings in those disciplines at that time. They said my application would be active for 6 months, and I would be contacted when there was an opening. I have since moved back to the Orlando area, and am working at a temporary job and doing freelance tech work. Today, the Tech position was posted again, and my application is still active from the previous time that I applied. Do I apply for this new posting, or call Casting and ask about it, or what?

On a similar note, a friend of my family just retired from WDW after 35 years. He just told me a few days ago to keep calling and asking about the status of my application. He said something along the lines of "at Disney, the squeaky wheel gets the grease," but at the same time I don't want to hurt my chances by being a pest.

Any help or advice that anyone could throw my way would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Call casting and ask them if your application is still on file and they will probably say yes and then just politely ask about the position and mention you noticed it was posted again. That'll give them a chance to look at it again and you will hopefully get an interview or a role. It doesn't hurt to call and ask. I wouldn't worry about being a pest because it sounds like you aren't calling every day or week. It'll probably help by showing initiative and let them know that you are still interested. Hope this helps and good luck. :)
