Team Commincore: Main Street work thread

Hey guys. Figured I'd start this off. So let's see, our team is...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the things we have to get done for Main Street are.

-Two shops
-Re Imagined Carousel of Progress
-Emporium style "Mega Shop."

There might be more, so again, please correct me if I'm wrong. With that being said, let's get to it! Let's create a Main Street that will blow people's minds!

Anyways, I'll get started with the first little bit of open brainstorming. I've always kind of been interested in seeing a Gypsy Cart in Main Street. I think the little hints of storytelling revolving around dark magic in Disneyland's Main Street are super intriguing, and it'd be fun to maybe expand on that. So with that in mind, I propose one of the mini shops to be..."Esmeralda's Cart of Mysteries"....or something like that. What do you guys think? Anyways, let's get started! I'm really happy with the people I'm working with this time around. Let's show them how it's done :sohappy:

Only two shops? I think we need much more than just that.

As for COP, I think the ideal place for it, even though it is a bit out of the way, is over where the Opera House would be in Disneyland. It would be just MASSIVE to fit the still-rotating theater of the show. I've even thought of reviving some old scripts for part of the show. I will share them later if you wish.

Sorry. Looks like we need a Quick Service restaurant and two meet n greet areas as well. I think the big problem with CoP is that the building shape, in general, really isn't designed for anything even remotely like Main Street. That building, if it's not in either a World's Fair or TL type setting, really can be a distraction. I know this might be sacrilege, in a way, to even suggest that, but is their anyway we can rework the Carousel technology. Maybe scale it down physically but plus it when it comes to the actual technology? At the moment, I really can't see either a huge Carousel building or a huge building in general masking the carousel really working in terms of making a smooth, non distracting Main Street.

I think the most likely option is to put it in the area of the Opera House at Disneyland and put it inside a similar building, only much, much bigger.
