Taxi pickup/drop off?

Where does this happen?
We are staying at Lake Buena Vista and will use bus transportation for the first and last trip of the day. We were thinking that if we want to go back to the hotel for a couple of hours it may make more sense to get a taxi. Even at $10 each way for a few days, it still beats renting a car and paying for parking.

Do the taxis pick up and drop off at the park entrances or somewhere in the parking lots (i.e. do we have to wait for a tram to the entracne anyway). And how do we call a taxi from the park? Use our cell, or is there a guest services place we can do that?

Thanks if you have any ideas - I've never tried a taxi there before.

I've seen taxis at the TTC before. Not sure about the other parks, but I would guess near the bus stops. I also seem to remember seeing a taxi stand near the non Disney busses at MGM. I don't think you need to call ahead. They always seem to be lurking there.

Taxis are at the following places for the parks:

At Epcot: go to the first set of bus stops. The taxis are lined up in the middle of the bus stops. You can't miss them.

At Animal Kingdom: Don't walk towards the bus stops when exiting the park. You must walk to the left. Walk towards the parking lot trams. The Taxis are just past the tram pick up. There's even a sign that says Taxis.

At MGM: The taxis are often in two places, although I only think one is legal.
Most often if you walk towards the busses in the middle where the handicap parking is there are taxi cabs. However, if you walk along the pathway past the Disney busses to the parking area for off property busses the taxis are lined up there. This is the hardest place to get a taxi in my experience. You might want to consider taking the boat or the walkway to the Swan/Dolphin/Boardwalk/ Yacht or Beach Club and getting a taxi there.

At Magic Kingdom: The quickest way to get a taxi is to walk from the Magic Kingdom to the Contemporary on the Contemporary walkway and hail a taxi there. (5-10min walk) They are always in front. If you don't want to do that the taxi stand for Magic Kingdom is in front of the TTC.

Hope this helps.
