Tapestry of Dreams Parade

I recently saw the new "Tapestry of Dreams" parade at Epcot. I must admit I was a little disapointed by it. I was wondering what other people thought of it, you must forgive me if you have already discussed this and I missed it at some point... At any rate, what does everybody think about it?

I enjoyed the parade itself, but I liked the ToN music\narration a whole lot better than the ToD music\narration.

The little troll (dreamcatchers) and their voices scare me. This parade also seems to be sped up too much. The original parade was like 40 min, which was excessive, but this is only like 15...the puppets are more or less sprinting around World Showcase (I exaggerate, but I do see less interaction with guests...). I liked the parade when it was about 25 minutes...

I worked crowd control during them many times..... gotta love it .... *sigh*

Never heard the TON dialog. Didn't know about the interpreting then. What is the difference?

Not as good as TON

Tapestry of Dreams is absolutely horrible when compared to Tapestry of Nations.

1. The dialogue is much worse in TOD.

2. The little bells and things added to puppets in TOD is really annoying.

3. The characters are much worse than the TON and the Sage.

4. The puppets are all mixed up, no longer in a single group like TON.

5. They took the Fife and Drum Corps guys off the floats. They used to be in TON. At least I didn't notice them the two weeks I was selling popcorn and turkey legs at AA.

6. The music is not as good.

2. Bells and things added like that have no meaning for me. Can't hear them much

3. Miss Sage but like the new characters.

4. Don't mind the puppets mixed up.

5. Drummers were there over Christmas. Only thing I really can hear.

Phew!
Its good to know that other people recognize the overall shabbiness of ToN and its not just me being too critical... The characters are outright silly, not that that is always a bad thing, but in this case it makes the entire thing ridiculous. Their high voices creep me out too! I liked the great sage... the new ones seem so bizarre in a kind of very badly done Cirque du Soleil production. Not that CdS is done badly, but if it was, it would kind of look like ToN... Know what I mean?

I'm one of the few..... the proud.......

the TAPESTRY OF DREAMS FANS!!!!!!

Here are my reasons why:

*elves rock!

*the puppeteers seem to have more fun with the people watching than in ToN

*the dream catcher costumes don't weigh 90 pounds!!!

*one of the lead characters is FEMALE.... and an ELF

*they kept my favorite part of the drum routine

*I came up with a word to describe the parade: seussadelic! (I'm not sure if that's a good thing....)

*hey, at least it's better than the "Recycle the Magic Parade"

*it could have been worse. think "Journey into Your Imagination: The Parade!

*wait a minute! I actually liked JIYI!!!

*just remember, they were planning on getting rid of the parade completely after the millennium celebration.

*Sage of Time/Sailor Pluto (from Sailor Moon): both are over 2000 years old, both look REALLY good for their age, both carry a rod-like object, both guard the gateway of time.......

*did I mention that I like elves???

(and the list goes on and on)

We didn't get to see this when we last went in April 2000. But we are definitely making time for it this time.!!!
