Talking Timon

Was at the AK on wednesday the 11th and went to see FOTLK. Now not sure if this is new or not but Timon happened to be talking. If anyone remembers the movie of mickey from DL that was going around where his mouth move yes exactly the same thing. I will try and put my video of it up on youtube soon.

I think it is a slightly different thing, unless this Timon was actually responding to things around him or directly to people in the audience. The Timon costume they use can move its mouth, similar to what was introduced in the Dream along with Mickey show. However, the vocals are clearly pumped into the theater over speakers. Now, if that same timon was meeting with people after and calling them by name then we are on to something. The DL test was impressive because it was a completely personal visit with a talking mickey.

Not quite the same thing as the video you saw, Timon has been like this for a while similar to Dream Along With Mickey where they move to a pre recorded track. The video you saw from Claifornia the character and a synthesiser allowing the friend of Mickey to talk live and the voice come out just loke Mickey.

Exactly, that Timon is not as impressive as DL's Mickey, but it is pretty cool anyway. :D

Oh wow, I didn't know about this. The last time I seen the FOTL was in 2005 I think. Maybe I should go check it out soon on my next trip.

This brings up an interesting point, how close are we to seeing the crazy talking mickey in the theme parks? Is this going to be part of NextGen?

The new talking Mickey Mouse made his first public appearance at DCA, he was there to commemorate the world premiere of World of Color :) (June 10, 2010)

I'm dying to see the talking Mickey technology brought to WDW. Not only that, but also implemented in other characters too. Its so friggin amazing!

I wonder how long it is before the Timon- and Dream Along-styled talking characters appear in EVERY show? I saw a show on Disney Cruise Line this summer where Mickey talked, and I couldn't help being a bit disappointed when his mouth didn't move. I guess I've been spoiled... :lol:

Hopefully soon! And not just at WDW, but all the parks around the world. This is seriously amazing technology, it brings the characters to life like never before!
