Taking our own food into Disneyland

I know the park says you can't take your own food or beverages into Disneyland, but many people say they do it. Has anyone had a recent experience taking food into Disneyland. We want to take granola bars and bottled water. Thanks!

Granola bars and bottled water in a backpack or handbag are fine. It's when you get into multi-course meals that the CM's at the main entrance balk. And you may not bring in a cooler; those need to be left in the lockers at the shaded picnic area just to the west of the main entrance turnstiles.

We took granola bars, Wheat Thins, Gatorade, etc and never got hassled. I saw a number of coolers in the park and watched a large family eat their pre-made sandwiches in the French Market. I even saw a family on Wednesday (7/9) making sandwiches -- packages of bologna and all -- on Main Street.
