Help us decide! I just can't seem to find a restaurant for us to have lunch at while we visit DTD!

While I am honestly not a gigantic fan of either's food... the experience of T-Rex is way more fun. The prices are fairly similar as is true of most of the chains (these two and Rainforest) but overall I think T-Rex feels a lot more appropriate on Disney property. Back in the Pleasure Island days Planet Hollywood was maybe a little more relevant (curious to see if it gets there again with the changes coming to Downtown).

That settles it!! T-Rex it is! Now I just have to hope they don't get too scared by the dinosaurs!!!
How old are the kiddos? We took DS7 when he was 3. He has a mood and anxiety disorder and he made it through almost the entire meal without issue until right near the end when the meteor shower happened and then got a little nervous. Now, even though he still has the disorder, he loves it there and has zero issues if that helps!

That does help. Thanks! Our twins will be 2 years old!! I think they will be okay. ;)

Planet Hollywood's food is not edible! It's nice to look at the memorabilia though.

This! I have not even been to a PH since 2006, and have not eaten in one since 2002. But the food has always been terrible. Go in, take a look around, maybe a drink or something. But definitely go eat at TRex. If your twins get scared, I guess you can instead go get one of those meatball cones that look so good. ;)

No competition..Rexy all the way..I wouldn't even send my MIL to PH. ( and that's saying something );)
I would still send mine. Or actually, just let her go, since she has to control everything and listens to nothing other than that going on in her head. Although I would feel bad for her server.

I say neither, We took my sons to T Rex in Kansas City when he was young and it scared him. Been to Rainforest too and the food was not so good (neither is really good). They have these restaurants all over we don't need to go to Disney for them. I'd say look for a Character meal. For that age Crystal Palace and Chef Mickey would be my choice.

Edit, if you have to have a meal at DTD, for that age I would pick Earl of Sandwich.

I know kids at 2 would love Ragland Road because of the dancers, if your kiddos are not to shy and closer to 3 they might be brave enough to get up there and dance with them which is so cute to watch. The food there is wonderful, just go check out their website, it is too funny!

If it's only between those 2...definitely T-Rex. I wouldn't classify either as great, but I think T-Rex's food is better and the overall experience is better if nobody is scared.

As for the scare factor, it all depends on the kid. My 4 year old was very scared...and she's usually my brave one. My friend's 5 year old was the same way, but I know quite a few people with kids in the 1-6yr set who have had no issues with their children here...so like I said, it depends on the kiddo. :)
