T-Rex getting its mountain range

I know this has probably been discussed before, but is this restaurant unique to WDW? I know it's owned by the Rainforest Cafe folks, but I've never seen one of these elsewhere. As much as I hate outside companies in WDW, I won't mind as much if it's the only one of its kind...

Not only is it not one-of-a-kind, it isn't even the first T-Rex Cafe. One opened in Kansas City last year.

From a Kansas City girl - I can tell you the restaurant is a fun experience. I actually think we prefer the food here over Rainforest Cafe' in my family. It's a little pricey - but tons of food - we often order one entree and split between of us because there is so much food!
I'm interested in seeing if the decor will be the same or different.
Also the T-Rex here in KC has a Build-A-Dino inside - anyone know if the Florida location will as well?

I'm kind of excited to eat here, I won't lie. I love dinosaurs still, although as a kid I was obsessed. At Christmas time I played Dino-Monopoly with my boyfriend's nephew and it rekindled my interest.

Thanks for the pictures! Looks pretty interesting. Is the food there similar to Rainforest Cafe? I think we are going to try T-Rex on our Decemder trip.

It's pretty much the same at both. Maybe just a tad bit better at T-Rex.

I think there's supposed to be a build-a -dino in there as well (sub of Build a Bear):sohappy: Hope they're on schedule...want to try it in Dec. I don't expect much of the food (Rainforest leaves much to be desired :hurl, but the atmosphere looks amazing!

Well, still pictures don't really capture what goes on in there. The young T-Rex at the door comes to life frequently to menace guests who are waiting to be seated. The giant butterfly flutters his wings, the wooly mammoths chew their food. And every 20 minutes or so there's a simulated comet strike, where the sky gets dark, a volcano erupts (actually, a projection of a volcano and lava flows on the wall), and all the dinosaurs react in fear. It's actually pretty cool.
