After being torn for three days I decided to switch from POFQ to CSR. I wanted to be closer to AKL, and more centrally located. This is the first time I am staying at a moderate. Have always stayed @ AKL and wanted to try and cut expenses this trip. Will still be eating some of my meals @ AKL and hanging out @ Victoria Falls. I am going in early Jan. 2014 a slow time and read that POFQ shares busses during non peak times. Also CSR has Maya Grill (TS) plus Rix Lounge. Has anyone eaten their, and what are your thoughts? Have heard bus service is pretty good @ CSR. Suggestions needed for building request please. I would like to be fairly close to a bus stop and the food court. I have never stayed here, and need your help, as I have been told its a large resort. Allot of people say it could be a good deal o walking, but the resort is beautiful and to enjoy it and not let it bother me to much. Master Yoda said he walked from near the back of the resort to near the front entrance in 7 minutes, which is not to bad. Any tips on this resort are most appreciated. @Master Yoda

Only stayed at CSR once (Thanksgiving several years back). It was one of the most crowded times of the year and we didn't have any issues! The Rix Lounge is very cool to grab a drink at night. The pool was very cool as well. The kids loved it! I have nothing bad to stay about the resort. Enjoy

The rooms are the same in all the buildings, so the only difference is the outside of the buildings. IMO, they're all nice. :) CSR is really pretty.

All the mods are fairly close to bus stops. There are bus stops all over.

I only ate at the Pepper Market. Sorry.

@Buzz2001 Thanks for the response. I did go into your Web Site and there is much info. I understand that "Cabana 9B is business class and more$ and gets you into the lounge. There are probably allot of business
people staying in this area. I am going to the World for vacation, and to relax. I have never stayed @CSR,
and since you are the expert on this resort I need your personnel recommendations. Here is what I am looking
for room wise (location wise). I realize that Disney tries to honor request, but not guaranteed. I would like a
room located near a bus stop where I can get on and find a seat with little problems, I have back problems. Also
would like to be near the food court/restaurants as I would like to get breakfast early, and head to parks for EMH's. Those are priorities. Also a pool nearby would be a good thing, but going in early Jan. it may be to cold.
Could I get your "take" on the Maya restaurant, and any other personnel suggestions concerning this resort. I want this experience to be a pleasant one. I usually stay @ AKL (near by) and wanted the transition to staying @CSR-Tinker to go smoothly. One last thing. How is the taxi service their, as I am sure I will be going over to Jiko &
or Sanaa for dinner @ AKL. Thanks Buzz for all your advice!!!!!!! All thoughts are welcome on this resort!!!

I have stayed at both resorts several times and prefer POFQ, mostly for the size but also for the location to all except AK. At CSR I always reserve a preferred room to be closer to the main building. As far as POFQ sharing a bus with POR at slower times, that adds 4 bus stops(what CSR has) but POR is much smaller and does not seem to take as long getting around to all of them. Either way they are both great resorts.

@petey No, the lounge is for guests only. CSR has created hospitality suites for the convention goers in the casita buildings.

casita 4 is close to the first park bus stop #2. Its about 7 min walk to the main building. Casita 4 has the quiet pool, spa, fitness center, salon and laundry.

rancho 7b has a quiet pool, close to main pool and bus stop #4.

cabana 8a is steps from main pool, bus stop #3 but a 7-10 min walk to the main building.

cabana 9b is close to all and is why CSR made it the club level building to charge $20 to $25 more per night. It was the most requested location.

casita 3 is also good but is a preferred room location and cost more per night.

taxi service is great because its a convention resort. we use them to get to California Grill and Cape May at the BC.

I love the Maya Grill and its new menu. THe food it terrific and service is great. Ask for Keith, tell him Buzz sent you. THe Maya Grill is one of WDW's best kept secrets.

CSR is central to the parks as you can see in the map below. It has quick rides to all parks.

I liked the look of the Cabanas section, and it seems to be near most things, bus stop, main building, pool etc. Hope I am correct.
Yes, that would be mostly correct. The Ranchos are furthest out, the Casitas closest. But the Casitas have less of a vacation feel, more convention. If I had my say, I'd stay at the Cabanas too! Yummie, let me feel I'm in the subtropics! (But January...hope the temperature will be nice enough to enjoy a hammock)

Do you have a good map of the Coronado? Here's one that lists all buildings and bus stops and amenities, to help you request a room:

Hey, you pick a place based on its looks, on its vibe, on whether it connects with you. If the chemistry is there, then it is there and you needn't worry, just enjoy. WDW is full of great places to stay. Ultimately, you have to settle for one and just enjoy that one, without looking at all the others. You always miss out on some stuff, and you always get some unique experiences too.
