Hi!

I just noticed, while on this cite, that the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Festival will be going on while I'm there in October.
  • Has anyone been before?
  • What did you think?
  • It is worth attending and is it worth the Money?
Thanks!

You mean the Epcot Food & Wine Festival, I assume. It doesn't require additional park admission. The countries around World Showcase, and others that are not represented, set up kiosks with appetizer-sized portions of their food, and offer a variety of adult beverages that are not normally sold.

The food and drink costs extra, but only for what you buy.

The Swan and Dolphin Classic is a two day event held at the Swan and Dolphin on the Promenade between the two hotels. It's free to attend but the food is ala-carte pricing or you can buy a wristband for $85 (I think) per day that allows unlimited food and wine tasting for that day. The food is actually quite good but I guess it'd be up to you as to whether or not you could $85 worth if going unlimited...

Yes, I meant the Swan and Dolphin Food and Wine Classic. I saw online that you could purchase a la carte tickets, so maybe we'll do that. It looks like items are between 2 and 6 tickets each. Normally I wouldn't think too much about attending this, but we're staying at Boardwalk, so we might check it out.

My husband worked at the hotels recently and refused to eat at any of the rest. even with a steep 50% off discount, he said they were DIRTY and there were complaints daily of food poisoning from guests. As for the rest of the hotel they have a new contract and the current cleaning company is mostly thugs, guys just released from prison that don't care if things are clean or not. He found it amazing the hotel would have a cleaning crew in there with guys with saggy pants and full gold grills pretending to clean. He said the hotel just hosts this festival and it should all be from outside vendors so it might be good.

I'm not really into to eating & drinking events and have no personal opinion. But everyone seems to like it a lot. I know locals who rent rooms so they can go to the Dolphin, eat and drink themselves silly and not have to drive home. :)
