SW2K Approaches

First of all, some background: folks who have been around the site for several years might remember SW1K, the day my son rode Snow White's Scary Adventures for the 1000th time. If you do a search on SW1K you can find the threads on the topic, and maybe even the video if it hasn't moved. In a nutshell, my son is autistic and absolutely loves riding Snow White's Scary Adventures. On the day of his 1000th ride, Snow White herself come out to meet him in person and go on the ride with him (hence my avatar image). This was arranged by Graham Murphy, a cast member to whom I still owe a great debt of gratitude.

So, that was back in April of 2005. It has taken two and a half years, mostly because he was very ill for most of 2006, but his 2000th ride is rapidly approaching. If he keeps on his current pace, he should hit SW2K shortly after the first of the year. Plans for the event are bubbling up, but if any cast members are reading this and have any special suggestions I am all ears.

This summer, on my College Program, my roommate worked in Fantasyland merch.

I told him about Ben and SW1k and told him to ask around to see how many cast members remembered.

So many of them knew exactly what he was talking about.

Enjoy all the rides, and know we are thinking about you all the time

This is so weird - I was just talking about your son last night to a friend of ours. She was so impressed with the way things have been handled for him. Thanks for posting again and please let us know all the details when the big 2K happens!

Awesome.

Does Ben have any understanding that as the number of times he visits Snow White goes up, something truly magical might happen again?

That's wonderful! :sohappy::sohappy: I remember PMing you about my autistic son for areas in the park to get away from everything. I kept a copy of your suggestions, they were so helpful. I hope Ben has a wonderful 2K ride!
