Sunrise Safari at check-out day

It's been a dream of mine to do the sunrise safari and seeing recent pictures of it made me even more sure it's something I'd like to experience.

I can't comfortably afford a 12 night stay at AKL so I thought about staying for one night before our package at POFQ starts. So, can you do the safari on your check-out day?

Yes you can but you also have to stay in a Concierge room. The Sunrise Safari is only for Concierge level guests and not all guests at AKL. I think also they only do the safari certain days of the week the last I checked Sundays and Thursdays. So make sure the night you would book there and book a concierge level room that they have a Sunrise Safari that next morning that you check out. :)

Your very welcome!!! Yeah we have stayed there but being never stayed concierge level we could not do the safari. Now we are DVC members so we really won't get to unless we snag a hard to get concierge level DVC room at Jambo. I really think it should be open to all guests at AKL and be a hotel perk. Maybe one day!! :)

not sure if it has changed or not, but the sunset safari used to be open to all guests at AKL. the sunrise was only for concierge guests. the sunset safari goes out on the savannahs of the lodge itself, small truck, lots of close up interactions with animals. however, the sunset safari is far more expensive per person because it includes a dinner at jiko, so an upgrade to a concierge room may end up cheaper. i would call disney and ask prices for both currently and the restrictions.
we ourselves moved into AKL from elsewhere once just to do the sunrise safari. it is expensive, but in my opinion worth it. if you can swing it, do concierge and sunrise !

Our last day at Disney is Sunday November 23rd. Now if we do a RO and not a package it's quite doable. It's $591 (including taxes) for one night at concierge level. I'm currently booked for 12 nights at POFQ with a package and the breakdown between hotel x dining plan comes to a total of $440. I currently have a 9 day ticket that I can add one more day to, book RO concierge level and use the extra day to enter AK on Safari day (wasn't planning on a park on our check out day). This is great, I'll have to call and change my reservations! So excited about all of this!

We plan on doing the sunrise safari in January. Something we always wanted to do! I am glad it is working out for you! I look forward to your thoughts!
