Definitely bring the car if you can. It makes such a difference just being able to go where ever you want whenever you want and not having to wait on buses.
I would also bring a computer if it's a lap top or if you're just heavily addicted to computer usage. They do have high speed internet in the apts, but the hook up is in the living room. They put in the high speed while I was on my CP in 2004, and it made it a little difficult. We had gotten used to having our dial up and our computers in our rooms. Once we had the high speed we had to move all our computers (all 6 of them) into the living room. Luckily all but one of us had lap tops, so we moved them back and forth throughout the apt. However, the one roommate with the desktop kept it on our kitchen table, which we never used, but it did make our apt look sloppy. It was kind of annoying. Also if you were willing to go in on a wireless router with the roomies, it would be worth while.
I'm totally rambling, sorry, I would say bring the computer, if you really want to have it. And definitely bring the car!
