Summer Bay Resort - reasonable offsite hotel?

On my next trip to WDW, we will likely be staying at the Summer Bay Resort on 192 (my mother-in-law is an RCI member and booked it - I'm not going to complain about free lodging!) Has anyone here stayed there before? (I didn't find much from doing a "search.") If so, I have a few questions:

1) How long a drive is it from Summer Bay to the Disney theme parks? I'll have a 6-year-old, a 3-year-old, and an infant with me, so it's likely we'll want to take a "nap and rest" break midday. Is it close enough that this is feasible?

2) How nice is Summer Bay? Room quality, service, etc.

3) Are there activities for kids there? Yeah, we'll spend most days at WDW, but it might be nice to have one "relaxing" day mid-trip...

Thanks in advance for any help!

I didn't actually stay at the resort... but I did stay at Holiday Inn Express one night

Seriously thought, there is a HI Ex at the Summerbay Resort, and the Resort looked nice. I would say that it was about a 10-15 minute drive to the edge of property and then it depended on what park you were going to.

I stayed there one night and didn't think it was too far....

here is there website - it is very popular with tuggers

http://www.summerbayresort.com/

so I think you will love it

it is closer to US 27 than WDW - but it your go Black Lake - to the shortcut to AK - you can probably be there in around 15 to 20 minutes. this is AK - not MK or Epcot.
