Suggestions for seeing the Christmas decorations in November

Hi, I am planning a 6 day "pre-vacation" before my 10 day Riverside vacation starts. We are staying at the Holiday Inn on State Rd. beginning of November and would really love to use that time to see all the hotels and decorations first as our theme park tickets do not start until we get to Riverside. I would prefer to depend on the resort bus but am not against driving somewhere myself, so.....anyone have any suggestions on the best way to do this and things I should not miss? This will be our 15th trip so we know our way around WDW but our first time in November and first time staying this long. I want to make the most of this extra time. Thanks!!!

Most of the resorts do not begin decorating until mid-November. Last year WL was not decorated until the 19th.
