Suggestions for entertainment for a 2 1/2 year old girl ...

My husband, mother in law and myself are going down in Feb with our 2 1/2 year old daughter. What shows or character dining experiences would be fun and appropriate. She's just getting into the Disney characters and loves animals of all kinds. We've taken her to Disneyland a few times and nothing really scares her ridewise, but we've never taken in any of the shows with the exceptions of the 3D ones. Any suggestions for shows and dining (dinner shows as well) at the parks would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

Hi and Welcome!!
This website may help give you a heads-up on which rides your daughter will be able to enjoy http://allearsnet.com/tp/rr.htm I have yet to be at Disney with any children, but just about all of the shows I would think would be suitable for a 2 1/2 yo. Some of the 3D shows may be a little intense, but if she has already seen a few in Disneyland then she should be ok. You also might want to check-out this website for some info on having a young child in Disney. I found it to be pretty informative for the future when I have children http://allearsnet.com/pl/infant.htm I hope this helps and have a "magical" trip :sohappy:

you can't go wrong no matter where you pick

All of the character breakfasts will be fun for her. The more popular ones are chef mickey's and cinderella's royal table, and she would certainly love these, as our 2.5 y.o. enjoyed it too last year. Our young one also enjoyed the playhouse disney show at MGM.

My 2.5 year old loves just about everything except the "boring" shows (like American Adventure, etc). Her favorite is Small World. As far as dining and stuff like that - that's not really her kind of thing. She'd rather be up running around than sitting at dinner.

I may be able to provide some input whereas we just got back from there in October with our 26 month old. I agree fully with the character breakfasts. We were lucky to make ressies for Cinderellas Castle the week of and she loved the princesses. In addition, we like Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary and 1900 Park Fare at GF. Also, we liked Crystal Palace character lunch in the MK. As far as rides, she likes all of the Fantasyland stuff (she gets a little scared of Sleeping Beauty and going high on Dumbo, but not a big deal, she rode it and liked it). She did great in the Philharmagic, Voyage of Little Mermaid at MGM, etc., and I would especially recommend the Playhouse Disney attraction at MGM. This is one of her favorites. She, in addition, liked simply riding the trams, monorail, boats, etc. She did well on the safari ride at Animal Kingdom and loves the animals. Your young one might also enjoy the fireworks, parades, and the Cinderllabration show, if she is into the princesses, at MK.

Hope this helps. Aaron.
