Suggestion in regards to Epcot SSE Wand Threads

:lookaroun I hope no one takes this personally, but I felt it had to be said.

The fact that the majority of the threads in the forum such as the News/Rumors section are overwhelming full of Wand threads, is there any way the mods can make one sticky thread somewhere so that everyone who cares can post their feelings, pictures of the demolition and other day to day updates while the SSE rehab is being completed?

I know this type of discussion of the love/hate relationship to "The Wand" isn't new to just the very recent SSE Rehab and that this has been going on for some time now, but IMHO, the amount of threads that are dedicated to this issue are getting ridiculous and out of hand. Right now it looks like it'll be a pattern of at least ONE new thread a day with picture updates during the SSE rehab.

If we had just one thread/sticky about the-thing-that-should-not-be-named, then we could all maybe go back to enjoying other things to talk about in regards to WDW.

Thanks for reading.

You could also say that if people would search for existing threads instead of being in a rush to create a new one, we would not have this problem either.

Yes, you could say that, but then you might be accused of being an unfriendly instigator.

What ever happen to thread merging?

I think part of the problem is that with longer or more involved threads is that there's simply too many of us here chatting.

Say we have Day 1 Wand Thread with photos of the crane - yay! Well, if Day 2 with lights out was added to that thread, it'd be somewhere around page 20-something. Where? Who knows..

Then Day 3 gets added around page 30-something. By page 40-something you'll have people who didn't read the whole thread asking "Has it started coming down yet? Were the lights out?"

With a smaller forum with a core set of people, you can have a continuous thread - because everyone follows it. However, with such a large forum, things get lost in large threads.

Besides, things should cool down in the next few days. We've only been Wand-crazy for less then a week. Things should start shifting back to more normal, like posting an update and "oh, it just happens to have wand pics" rather then things being wand-dedicated.

I agree with Merf. For anyone who is tired of wand threads, just don't open them. All the ones I've seen are clearly labeled and easy to avoid.

Now that I've heard your opinion on it Merf, I actually agree with you too, I can hear your point. We'll just consider this wand-obsession week and let bygones be bygones

I wasn't implying that the threads weren't properly marked, and trust me, I've avoided a lot of them. I know everyone has a right to post whatever floats their boat and I know the wand coming down is taking a lot of folks super happy, I just wasn't sure whether or not anyone had thought about making a sticky for it.
