Stupid pop-up or serious?

I just got a popup telling me my computer was tracked and it told me all of my internet's stat-type things, like what kind of browser I'm using, and what kind of connection I have, and it said "What's that on your desktop?" I thought there would be a different picture on my desktop, but it was just the same as always.
So, was this a stupid pop-up, or a serious hack type thing?

If someone were monitoring your connection, web browser, etc., do you think they would tell you?

Like all pop-ups, it's someone trying to sell you something.

Spybot - http://download.com.com/3000-2144-10194058.html?tag=lst-0-1

Both are free downloads and I would recomind using both just to make sure you computer is clear.
Thanks! I have Ad-Aware but not the other one, I'm sure it was just a stupid pop-up though, but thanks anyways! :king:

A lot of that information is transmitted by your browser with every http request, so it's possible that whatever site you were at pulled that info from the request header and spit it out into a popup template designed to scare you. ymmv

POpup ad. It happened to me too. I hayte pop-up ads. we should have the government create a no pop up list like the no phone call list.

Register on WDWMAGIC. This sidebar will go away, and you'll see fewer ads.
