Stuff You Always Buy But Leave At The End of Trip

To clarify the title of the post, I am talking about items you buy a the park or before you get to your resort, maybe even things you pack, but that you end up never using or find too difficult to pack up and bring home from your trip.
For example, and this goes for all trips I seem to take not just Disney:
I always pick up some beer and wine at a grocery store before checking in, thinking I'll save money on have a drink or two at the room at the end of the day, or before heading to the pool, but I always end up leaving it for the maid, or trying to give it away. I never end up drinking too much because I am too tired or would rather pony up and sit at the bar if i want a drink. I know I can't do a case, and I 12 beers is even pushing it, but I think the wife and I will go with two bottles of wine and six pack and see how that goes. Last time I found a guy who appreciated the stuff, but sometime it just gets left for the maid(not as a tip of course). I wonder how much stuff they end up with!
Anyone have something they always bring too much of or get?

I often left snacks or pop. If I'd opened them, I threw them out. If it was unopened, I'd leave it on a table or something so housekeeping could decide if they wanted to pitch it or keep it.

Once, I gave a 12 pack of pop to people who were arriving. :)

Sometimes I left shampoo, too. Just didn't want to bother drying it and putting it into the plastic thingy. Sis once chastised me for throwing it out, so she took it. It spilled all over her suitcase. Bwahahahahaha! REVENGE!!!

Well we take a lot of food (21 hour car drive) but never eat half of it. And we will also leave our ponchos there (well, throw them away) because we don't want to deal with the wet things in the car. Other than that we take everything with us. I guess it's easier to take things in a car than a plane, though.

We drive down and brought a small, dorm room size fridge with us last trip in 2011 (this was before all rooms had fridges). My wife had bought it at a garage sale (pretty cheap too) the year before and we were using it at home but didn't want it any more, so we loaded it up in the van and used it in our room at Pop for our 10 day trip. We usually go off property and buy a few groceries, so it was worth it to us. I ended up getting the name of a family who was checking in the day before we were checking out and told them that they could swing by our room and have it the day we left.

Mickey balloons, can't take those on a plane!

Yep, me too. I like to leave it in the hotel rom with a note saying it's to be left for the next family. This year I might change it as we tend to spend our last half day at the Magic Kingdom and there are plenty of kids running around (both big and small). I'll let my son choose a lucky winner to give the balloon to.

It's nice to be nice in a magical place.

Last summer, first day, bought a bag of Tostitos and queso cheese (healthy I know) and after 10 days they were never opened. I also order thru the garden grocer and like bananas for breakfast. They either come in one pound or ten pound bundles so I ordered the larger knowing one pound would not be enough. Let me tell you 10 pounds of bananas is a lot. I think we left 5 pounds behind:D

The last time we went, we got off the plane in MCO and little boy handed his Mickey balloon to my son. He was so excited! We kept it all week and when we left it still was pretty inflated so he gave to a boy whose family was checking in when we were getting on the magic express back to the airport.

Used to buy and bring lots of snacks with us to munch on in the resort room after the day in the parks, intending to save us money. At the end of the first several trips we realized how much we didn't eat so we've cut back on the stuff we pack. No matter how much or what we brought, there was too much temptation to just buy those better looking park snacks.

Just what I was going to say! My daughter had to have one during the parade which would have been fine if we stuck to our plan and went back to the resort after dinner but she wanted to go back to the park for rides. Kind of hard to go on rides holding a balloon! Lol. She ended up giving it to a toddler with a stroller. Lol. That was about the only time I missed not having a stroller.
