I'm hearing reports that the studio lot in Burbank, Imagineering in Glendale, and other LA-area offices are closing temporarily due to the wildfires affecting Southern California, out of an abundance of caution. As far as I can tell, there's no fires posing an immediate risk to these properties.

Disneyland Resort is currently unaffected. Universal Studios Hollywood, located fairly close to the Disney studio lot, was closed today.

I extend my best wishes and prayers to those affected.

Universal has significant cause to be concerned. I’m not saying they’re out of the woods yet because I’m no expert on wildfires but with the winds dying down and the helicopters moving into action, hopefully they can get this thing contained quickly. Universal is across the 101 freeway and I think it will be challenging for the fire to spread past that. Warner Bros Studios and The Walt Disney Studios are also across the Los Angeles River, so it’s highly, highly unlikely it directly impacts them especially now that the winds have died down.

Edit: Sunset fire sounds like it being contained.

The Palisades fire is devastating. Iger lives in Brentwood and it’s not an exaggeration to say the fire is literally on his doorstep. Brentwood is home to loads of incredibly expensive mansions. The insurance losses would be astronomical if that neighborhood burns.
