Studio Backlot Tour - Open in January or not?

The latest updates from THIS site say the before-mentioned refurbishment of the Backlot Studio Tour may be cancelled and it will be open during January. Other sites are still claiming the BST will be down for all of January.

Has anyone heard anything more about what the dealio is?

It will be open. It's not a scheduled refurb on the actual Disney World site.
