Stroller passes?

I read somewhere that you could buy a stroller pass for the duration of your stay in the parks. Is this true and if so where and how do you go about acquiring one.

Yes it is true and you get them at any stroller rental location. Essentially what you are doing is repurchasing your daily stroller rental. You will get the same big card with your name on it and your receipt will show a multiple day purchase. Just show your receipt at any stroller rental location on the preceding days and they will give you a stroller. If I am not mistaken they also shave off a buck or two from the daily rental price.

Unless it's recently changed, you don't get a card and receipt to show each day.

In order to get a stroller, you show a small piece of paper, a rental pass. That rental pass must have TODAY'S date stamped on it (OR it must have NO DATE stamped on it, and then the CM will stamp today's date on it).

But I'm getting ahead of myself ...

If you will be renting park strollers for more than one day, then on your first day you will get into the payment line at the stroller rental place at any of the 4 theme parks. You tell the CM how many days' rental you want. You pay in advance for that number of days, and yes, there is a small multi-day discount. The CM will give you a strip of perforated rental passes, stapled to your cash register receipt. The CM will stamp ONE of the passes with today's date.

Then you go to the line (there may not even be a line) where you actually receive your stroller. You show the CM the rental pass that is stamped with today's date. You don't need to remove it from the strip of passes, you just show it to them. Then you get your stroller.

Nothing happens when you return your stroller when you leave (no rebate, they don't take your rental pass or even look at your paperwork, etc.). If you go to another park later that same day or you return to that same park later that same day, you skip the "pay" line and go right to the line to get your stroller; you show the CM your same-day-stamped rental pass, and you get your stroller, easy as pie.

On subsequent days, you totally skip the pay line and go right to the stroller receiving area. The first time you do this each day, a CM at the receiving area will stamp a blank rental pass with today's date on it, etc.

The ONLY real reason you'd need your cash register receipt is to get a refund. Unused stroller rental passes are fully refundable, but you need your original cash register receipt along with any unused passes in order to get the refund.

I forgot to add that the stroller rental at Downtown Disney is totally unrelated to the stroller rentals in the parks. It works totally differently, and your park stroller rental passes are no good at DTD.

I worked at Animal Kingdom Strollers all summer on the ICP.

If I remember correctly you save $2 a day on single strollers when you by in advance and $4 on the double strollers.

You would be surprised how many people said no we want to do it day by day until you explained well $2 a day sounds like nothing but you've just told me you'll be here for 5 days so thats $10 and then we'd have to refund it all! whoops!

It's def worth getting all your days at one time, also to tell you that you can pay for strollers at ticket booths, not just at stroller rental!

very concise and informative :-) the only thing is, length of stay stroller rental passes are not refundable, as stated on the back side of the ticket. However unstamped tickets do not expire, even if Disney prices double before you get a chance to use it.

tare, i might recommend bringing your own stroller if you can, because it can get a bit expensive after a while to rent disney's but either way, have fun

Before the big hike in prices (and when our girls were younger) we used the WDW strollers because of their ease (nothing to lug on the buses, etc). Now however with the new prices I'd seriously think of bringing along a stroller or buying one of the single strollers they now sell at WDW, esp. if you will be at WDW for a week or longer.
