Stormalong Bay Rules

Hey all-

I just have a couple of questions about the entrance rules at Stormalong Bay.

I, along with two friends, will be sharing a room at the Beach Club in mid/late-August and will be touring with three other friends who are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. What is the policy on bringing guests to Stormalong Bay? If we want to take a quick dip in the pool in the middle of a day at EPCOT, will they be able to come along?

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Peter

The answer is unfortunately a resounding NO

Only those guests STAYING at a Yacht/Beach Club Resort can swim at Stormalong Bay.
And BTW...they DO check for Room Cards.
You could try it...but it's a gamble...and I for one would feel silly if I were escorted off Property.

Why don't you all just spend an afternoon at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard beach?

We're already planning on spending most of a day at the water parks but were also hoping to pop out of World Showcase once in a while to swim and then return for dinner/Illuminations.

As for the room cards, do they check when you enter the pool or do spot checks while you swim? Is Hurricane Hannah's inside or outside the Stormalong Bay area? (i.e. can my friends grab lunch while they enviously watch me play in the pool?)

Thanks,
Peter

I just walked through there Sunday. They check for Resort ID as soon as you enter the pool area. We were just passing through and were asked to show REsort ID. After you show ID they give you a red wristband you wear while you're in the pool area.

Hurricane Hannah's is outside the pool area so they should be able to grab a snack there.

We only show one room key and they allow our entire group in. Granted, we all stayed at Yacht Club, but one room key was sufficient for the 6 people we had. Besides, not everyone needs to bring their room key to a pool especially without a bag because someone may swipe it or it get last, and not every bathing suit these days has pockets.

Show your card and see what happens for everyone. If worse comes to worse, use the quiet pool (which is not deep which I thought dumb). Or, tho others may be angry at me for mentioning it, "card swap." You go in and use your room key, then walk to the opposite side of the pool deck area, give it to a friend, then have him enter with it and repeat.

You asked for advice, and that is a possibility for you to get everyone into the pool, but it's up to you as to what you see as right and wrong.

I agree with sufsupdon. Technically is isn't allowd, but being guests of yours there are ways to get around it (as he said, espcailly if your friends group isn't too large.) It also really depends on the time of day you are swimming (evening isn't as hard to get into) and how busy the pool and resort is. While pool hoping isn't allowd at any resort (except for DVC members) SAB is the only one with wrist bands that it will be difficult. Technically it isn't allowd at the quiet pools, but it is much easier to do. You should be able to sit buy the pool and eat with no problem, just explain that to the person at the gate.

Persoanlly I think they are guests of guests and should be able to go with you. We plan to stay at BCV next trip and our friends plan to stay at BC, but if one us ends up staying somewhere else, we will be trying to swim together at least once at SAB.

BTW I have heard of accounts of people asking at the front desk for specal persmission for such cases, and having it granted.
