Still Reserve @ Shades?

Hey, I'm planning on spending the weekend of Sept 20th with my fiance' in Disney, and even though Shades is under renovation is it still possible to get a reservation there. It's not that I am desperate for a room there specifically, I just want to use the military price advantage for the place.

I would appreciate any help.

You have to call the 1-888 number and see if there is availability for that time frame.

They are currently placing everyone in the Contemporary North Garden Wing and you will pay your rank rate plus the sales tax for the night.

If the Contemporary isn't available you can ask for the overflow rates to other resorts on Disney property.

Also, you could call Disney directly and ask about the military discount rates for rooms since they are having military appreciation through the middle of December. (We originally booked AKL for 09/27 - 09/30 for $118 per night with tax for a King room).

Don't forget to get your free 5 day hopper pass and the $99 pass for up to 5 family & Friends. To get this pass you have to show your "active duty" id or your reserve ID plus your orders showing you were placed on active duty between September 02 and present day.

If you can call during the lunch time you have, I would advise calling then to SOG. They have really screwy hour's lately.

The Contemporary North Garden Wing is nice, even if it is a little dated. With it being so close to the time you want to go you might luck up in getting into the contemporary because of cancellation policy.

The number is 1-888-593-2242 for SoG or you can call the 407-WDisney numbe for the military discounted room rates.

Those rates are 40% off of rack rates (moderates are about $79 a night).
