Still going to Disney during strike

I am planning a surprise birthday for my daughter turning 6. She's been asking for this for a long time, now I have saved up enough to pay and also borrowed some money from my retirement to make this happen for her, and I'm still planning on going. Nov. 22 - 27.

I understand where the workers are coming from, but I live in a one bedroom/den for me and my daughter it's $795 a month (maryland). I only make about 30K a year with paying for health benefits and such I don't bring home alot because that is the rate that a person in my field beginning out makes (Program Assistant). When I worked for retail I was making between $5.50 to 6.50 an hour at the most and that's from me working for each of them between 4 to 5 years with these company's, this is in one of the most expensive places to live (D.C./Baltimore area). But I knew that is the amount I am making when I signed on to work for them.

But if you feel a strike is the answer to getting more money than go for it, all I ask is just to allow me and my daughter to have a good time while we are there. The last thing I want my daughter to remember about her first trip to Disney is all of the commotion of a strike. Thank you, and have a blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas. And my prayers are with you and your family that GOD grants you with what you think you deserve.

last time Disney workers put up a large scale strike (DLR, ages ago), Disney had an ad in the paper the next day, saying that had 1100 positions open.

Needless to say, Disney won't let them strike in the parks. The can picket on the side of the freeway all they want, but that's about it

Yes, I agree with you also, and am going at the beginning of December too, but please note that this forum is not Disney owned, and your best bets would be to email Disney to get an official reply.

(Sorry, I don't have the email address onhand, maybe someone could reply with it)

Also, wouldn't they be able to have the Seasonal and College employees scheduled to fill in the positions fairly quickly?

I thank you for helping and your advice. Actually I did send Disney a question regarding this and they emailed me back saying that "your request has been forwarded to a executive person for a reply", and I haven't heard anything yet. Oh well.
I just thank GOD that I have a job and I am getting a paycheck.
