Step Trackers when you're in the parks

I'm a regular walker here at home and have decided to get a fitbit (or similar haven't chosen one yet) and was wondering how you liked using yours in the parks? Does it know the difference between when you're walking vs say on a ride or the monorail?

I've primarily in the past used my phone, Samsung Galaxy S5, to track my steps. It's fairly accurate and good at cutting out false positives while on rides. This past year I had my Pebble Time with me and I noticed it had a few hundred steps more than what my phone was reading. This made me come to the conclusion that the Pebble Time is probably adding more steps on the rides, although in the grand scheme of things it's not an extremely large difference.

Yeah it's really not ESP when your doing 20,000++ most days at WDW. My phone isn't always great because I don't always have it on me I don't like to have it in my pocket and it's always in my purse or hubby's backpack. Lol :)

I've used my Fitbit on several of my trips and have enjoyed having it track my steps. I've always found it useful as a guide and not taken it as being totally accurate. Because my Disney days are more active than my at home/ workplace days I see an increase in all the daily totals. I havent experienced a major increase when on the rides or monorail. But it is fascinating to see what differences I end up with when I get my weekly stats.

I use my Fitbit. I have the new Blaze, so it also doubles as a watch, message & calendar notification etc. It shouldn't count movement on rides as steps. If you are seriously considering a Fitbit, look at the new Alta - it looks less like an activity tracker, has interchangeable bands, alerts and a clock. We spoke with a guest on the bus back to our resort who was wearing one. She really liked it. However, if you want a serious sports tracker that includes heart rate monitoring, you need to look at the Fitbit Charge HR, Surge or other similar sports watches from Garmin, Microsoft, etc.

Apple Watch :)

If you are going to strap something to your wrist and wear it all day every day, it needs to do more than just count steps.

I am an insanely huge fan of FitBit! I started out with the FitBit Zip and loved it. When I became more active and wanted to track my sleep and HR I purchased the Charge HR. I currently still use both of them (Zip when I need to give my wrists a rest!) and will probably upgrade to the Blaze when I need to since I love the HR monitor and the design/functions of the Blaze. I *love* the way the Alta looks and my friends who have that one adore it.

The steps FitBit counts towards movement that isn't exercise (busses, trains, monorails, rides) is very minimal and I've found that FitBit's steps are the most accurate overall compared with the other activity trackers I've tried (Apple Watch, Basis Peak).
