Wanted to start a thread on steam train operations outside of the Disney parks.

Knott’s wins for the most historic theme park operation - with historic Rio Grande lettering and equipment!

Dollywood wins for the best show - coal burning, former white pass narrow gauge mikados climbing a 3.5% grade!

And of course Cedar Point gets a mention for operating coal burning locomotives as well.

This railway is a bit different: The Mount Washington Cog Railway (New Hampshire). Although they use biodiesel engines more often, they also use coal-fired steam engines, that are used less frequently. (Daily schedules for all trips up and down the mountain, are based upon weather conditions.)

Here's a bit of information about their fleet.

Not exactly a steam train but perhaps just as cool! From one of my Mom's old VHS tapes: SP 4449's mockup cab on display in the MGM studios backlot (seen during the tour). Circa 1989. No idea where it is now or how long it was there.
