I going next friday to the Polynesian Resort, only been there once but never stayed there.

I Heard there are different building to stay in, Which one would be the best, I dont need to be close to anything and would like the quietest one away from things. any suggestions?

Also can you catch the monorail to epcot from the polynesian?

Check out http://tikiman2001.homestead.com/

Lots of info on the various buildings. We've stayed in Tokelau which is centrally located near the quiet pool and a short walk to the TTC which is where you can get the monorail to epcot. Otherwise you'll have to ride the resort monorail all the way around the lagoon back to TTC then transfer.

Rarotonga is where I like to stay...very close to the main lobby, snack bars, monorail, bus stop, and restaurants. Also its about a 5 minute walk from the TTC.
You are a lucky son of a gun!!

The Poly is nice, but it just seems really "70's" Hawaii 5-0.

I was just looking at Tikiman's site. It shows a high rise tower. Why hasn't that been built? You'd think they would want to maximize the "Lagoon" view rooms?

If you build it, they will come.

I just got back from the Polynesian and loved it. I was in the Samoa building. It was a smoking building but we never smelt any smoke so we were fine (if we did we would have asked to move). I would ask to be in either the newly renovated Aetoroa or Tuvalu Longhouses (Fiji finishes its rehab soon). The Niue longhouse was right by ours and was smaller than the rest (2 stories not 3 and less rooms). I would ask to be there if you didn't like the location of the others I mentioned.

To get to Epcot you can do one of two things. You can take the monorail from the Great Ceremonial House to the TTC and then tranfer monorails. Your other option is to take the short walk to the TTC and then get on the monorail to Epcot (this seems to take less time). Just remember when walking that the TTC doesn't open until 8:45 so you can't get on a monorail from there to then if you do walk.

If you have any other questions just ask. I will help the best I can.

To get to Downtown Disney you get the bus at the Great Ceremonial House. There are no longer any busses to DTD from the TTC.

Remember all busses pick up at the Contemporary First, then Polynesian, and then the Grand Floridian. There are also no busses to the Magic Kingdom or Epcot (monorail).

The busses can get crowded depending on the time. Remember they can only get so crowded before they are turned away. I never had any problems with them, and you shouldn't have any either.
