staying at BCV

Hello, just had to share our good news with people who understand. ( our family doesn't).

We bought DVC last year at WLV, but my fav resort is really Y&B. Yesterday I decided to call member services and see if we could change our reservations for March 1-7 for 1 bedroom to BCV. I had heard that it can be hard to get into other resorts then your home.

No problem, got right in, no waiting list. Can't wait to see the place. I hear that it is great. Really looking forward to using the pool at SAB, I hear it is great for kids and our daughter will be almost 2 years old then. (the only other time we stayed at Y&B it was cold the whole time and only got to use the pool for a few hours the day we left.)

the main problem is for people, like my family, who went with cheaper points at vero beach (well, at the time they were cheaper, anyway) we can book at WDW only 7 months in advance, whereas people, like you, who bought into a WDW property DVC resort can book at WDW about 11 months in advance (i believe those months are right) anyway, YOU pretty much have the upper hand in the situation. as for home resorts, your home resort IS WLV, but from the way i see it, in the 'big picture', your home resort is the WDW property. though vero beach is Disney owned, it's off property, so therefore, we don't get the 11 month, or so, perk. so, i'm sure you'll find it'll be easier for you to get what you want at WDW than it will be for my family. but i guess that's the price we have to pay to get a slightly cheaper membership fee.

Sorry, Dizknee_Phreek's information is wrong. You can only book 11 months in advance at your home RESORT. So DisneyPhD can book 11 months in advance at WLV and 7 months in advance at all other resorts (including BCV).

DisneyPhD got in pretty easily because rooms were available. This is because the resort isn't sold out. I seriously doubt that he/she (sorry, forgot gender) could get into BWV.

[BTW, I had the same experience booking into WLV before it was sold out].

I bought in at Vero because of the cheaper price, and except for being able to get a studio at Hilton Head July 4th week (they have very few studios and 1 bdrooms because of zoning laws) we have been able to book anywhere anytime as long as we know where we are going and when. Last summer I had July 4th week at Boardwalk. I also was going to book WLV for New Years, but I decided I would rather go to Hilton Head. Just be able to book ahead, and in most cases, you will be fine. Also, you can use your points at the other WDW resorts. Your dates are correct, 11 months for your home resort, 7 months for all other DVC resorts, and 12 months for most everything else. Some of the World Passport collection will let you book 2 years ahead. Also, they are adding 2 new resorts for WDW, the Institute and the "Palm Beach" type resort near Osprey Ridge.

Either way I am happy. I am not that interested in BWL anyway, I like the pool and theming at BC better and you still have the all fun of the board walk close by, but not so close.

Really looking forward to trying out BCV. Has anyone else stayed there? Can you see the fireworks from UN from the resort and are there DVD players in the rooms? (no VCR then, I wanted to tape the in room disney channel tip for today!)

BCV had DVD players and free rentals in all 1 and 2 bedroom vacation homes. Studios have a color TV. Here is a hint, bring your own VCR and hook it up.

Not worth it when flying, have too much stuff to bring as it is. I will just wait until we stay at another DVC resort that does had a VRC. Thanks for the info.

I have not stayed at BCV but my parents just got back form there and they loved it. Their home resort is OKW but they plan on staying at BCV from now on if they can get the reservations there. Hopefully, I will get to stay there next June.
