I would say it depends on what you are looking for. We like to do breakfast at the parks, so neither of the places we stay do breakfast. We usually stay at the Castle Inn and Suites, because it’s nice enough and within walking distance (pull up the map on Disneyland app to see—it’s on Harbor, across from California Adventure, so it is more of a walk than the Best Western, but not by much). They also don’t charge hotel guests to park their car, if you’ll have a car. But we can oftentimes find good prices on GetAwayToday that have a night free (sometimes it’s cheaper to book direct, but we usually just have GAT price match when that happens, because we like to support small businesses).
When we want to do something a little closer to the entrance and a little nicer, we can often find good prices for Camelot (also on Harbor and visible on the app), which fairly close to the best western. Parking is about $20 per night.
We are very much a “budget” family—we’d rather spend our money on food and treats in the parks, and getting to come for more frequent vacations, than staying someplace that feels particularly outstanding.
We spend about as much for hotels on 3-4 trips, as someone who stays in the Paradise Pier pays for one, with a pretty comparable walking distance (just coming from the opposite direction). We also know people who recommend The Anaheim Hotel, next to the Castle Inn, and we have family who stay there even when we stay at the Castle, and they love it. They charge for parking. And we have heard good things about the Candy Cane Inn (as the above poster recommended), but I wouldn’t know personally.
I would recommend staying away from the Del Sol, despite its proximity.
