Anyone stayed here before? This will be our first time in Orlando and we're not sure about the area. If anyone could give us an idea as to how far the parks are that would be great. Also, if you know of any shops and restaurants in the area.... Thanks.

It's not a bad offsite hotel. It's a good clean hotel, but nothing to jump out at you (it's a Toyota, a safe bet) It's about 10-15 minutes (MAXIMUM) to the parks from there... 5 minutes to the Disney property line. The entire Downtown Disney area is close to it, as are the Orlando Premium Outlets and the Crossroads Shopping Center (mostly food with limited shopping).

My mom stayed there in April 2005, with no real issues.

As MKT says, nice clean hotel.

mkt, thank-you so much for the helpful link. I forgot all about Trip Advisor! We used TA when we were trying to find a resort for Mexico last year.

I never stayed there before but I have stayed at the Radisson and Comfort Suites Main Gate East in Old Town. If your not all booked up, check these places out. They are great providing shuttles and great if your on a budget.

Hey Rob...Do you know anything about The Argonaut Hotel at Fisherman's Wharf in San Fransisco, CA. I was thinking of staying there for a night in February and was just wondering if you had any additional info on this place. Everything I have researched on the net shows to be good, but it wouldn't hurt to have another opinion.

It's too trendy for its own good. It's not a bad hotel at all... in fact, it's a good hotel, but the staff seemed somewhat uppity. Location can't be beat though.

Are you driving from San Francisco to Anaheim? or taking full advantage of the Southwest Airlines $39 from anywhere to anywhere within California fares?

Personally, I'd rather spend the week in SFO and a few days in Anaheim. If you plan on doing other things in SoCal, that's different.... but I can't spend a full week in Disneyland. I'd need a day or two in the middle to change it up.
