Stay through the credits of "Pirates" (about 7 minutes or more), and you will be pleasantly surprised!!!!

(And, hey, I guess if you didn't the last time, that is just another reason to go again!)

Ok so we saw Pirates last night, we are one of those people who do see one movie a year (ok more like 4, but that is it.) We did stay (as was told on line) and boy are those creadits long (at least 10 min, I think everyone and their brother was on there.) I was hoping for a little bit more, do you think they are trying to set up for a sequel?

However I was really impressed and pleased with the flim.

Yes, i'd like to know also so I can convince my parents to stick around with us.

Also, the sequel is in the works and is set to take place in new Orleans, like New Orleans Square where Pirates is located in Disneyland and to show the war segments in great detail like the scene with the pirates and the fortress shooting cannonballs.

the first and third time i saw it,i didnt stay till the end cause my friends didnt want to stay. but the second and fourth time i stayed, each time we were the last ones but its cool to see what happens. But how could that set up a sequel? It would be like the exact same plot...

Wait, they say something about a sequel? Oh man, I just saw it today and I didn't stay. Oh man, now I want to know what it says.

If everyone did not want to know they would not ask. Just list a warning at the top of your post, if it has something major to do with the story plot then say that, otherwise what was the point of this thread.

--END OF THE MOVIE SPOILER DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW!-

-PIRATES YE BE WARNED!!-

The ending thingy lasts about 30 seconds so no biggie. The camera goes back to the cave with all the treasure. Barbbosa is laying like dead when the monkey goes up to Cortez's treasure, steals a piece and turns all dead again.

ugh... I saw it 2x & didn't stay until the end of the credits either time... so when Jack (the monkey) goes up to the treasure & takes another piece of gold, then Barbbosa is going to be the living dead again??

The point was to let you know to that there was something to stay for, but not necessarily to give it away.

Just like recommending a movie, but not giving away the ending.

Anyway, I just noticed it and thought it was worth noting for people here. Obviously just a way for the filmmakers to amuse themselves and add a treat for those who stayed through the interminable credits!! [Rediculously long anyway (with accountants and caterers even on there), but made evern more so by the fact that the movie's opening credits were skipped and then put at the end, so that the actors, director, etc., are mentioned TWICE at the end: once in the opening-style credits, and second in the formal cast and crew credits!]

I personally think that the end credits should have been a rousing, new rendition of "Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a Pirate's Life for Me," especially since Johnny Depp recited it as the last line in the film leading to the credits!

We said the same thing! Imagine hundreds of people leaving the theaters all over the country singing "YO-HO" at the top of their lungs all the way home.

That would have been a FUN idea!!!

Darn I missed the scene after the credits. Must see it again - it's a good reason! What were Sparrow's last words after "Bring Me The Horizion!" Here's the words to the song. Which of the lyrics was he saying? Good movie. Thanks.
--------

YO HO (A PIRATE'S LIFE FOR ME)
Lyrics by Xavier Atencio and music by George Bruns

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We pillage, we plunder, we rifle, and loot,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We kidnap and ravage and don't give a hoot,
Drink up me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We extort, we pilfer, we filch, and sack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Maraud and embezzle, and even high-jack,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We kindle and char, inflame and ignite,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We burn up the city, we're really a fright,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

We're rascals, scoundrels, villans, and knaves,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
We're devils and black sheep, really bad eggs,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.
We're beggars and blighters, ne'er-do-well cads,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.
Aye, but we're loved by our mommies and dads,
Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho.

oh yeah, I just realized that. That was a nice touch. BTW, for the people who stayed, was there any version of "Yo Ho" in those 10 minutes of closing credits? It seems unbelievable that they wouldn't put it in if they were that long.
