Stay, play, dine experience questions please!

I'm just curious, those that have participated in the Stay, Play, Dine discount in the past and had reservations already booked...how'd it work out for you? Were you able to save more on a room only discount instead? Did you have to switch resorts to get the discount? We have reservations for end of January at POFQ. Any info about it from those with experience would be great! TIA

I am interested in feedback regarding this topic as well. I have already booked for our trip in February and never booked with a discount before and I would like more info.

Your party size and makeup as well as your resort choice will be key factors in determining which promotion is best for your situation. Larger parties especially if all are 10 or older staying a value or moderate resorts tend to do better with dining discounts. Smaller parties or those with young children staying at deluxe resorts do better with room discounts.

The only way to know for sure is to do the math for every promotion you qualify for.

We (three people) used PSDS at POR last January and it seemed like a great deal.

We have a room-only reservation now for CBR Jan 27-Feb 6, 2016 and are waiting for PSDS or another promo to come along sometime this fall.

Thanks! I'm just trying to figure it out in anticipation of the same type of offer. It's tough though because I really wasn't interested in doing a dining plan, but if its a great deal than I won't pass it up. There's only 4 in our party, one child and another younger than 3

We used PSD on our last trip, We were originally at Port Orleans and had to switch to CSR because neither of the PO resorts were participating. For a family of 3 on a 11 day trip we saved quite a bit over the room only discount, somewhere around $1000 compared to around $400 for room only.

Thanks for the info. I have my heart set on FQ but I have heard that it's usually excluded so I'm trying to prep myself for a potential resort switch!

As an alternative, you could do a split stay. Disney makes it very easy with check-in (direct-to-room option), and they'll even transfer your luggage for you. It's especially easy if you live out of your suitcase - no packing in the middle of the trip.

We really wanted to stay at POFQ as well, and knowing it books up quickly we booked the cheapest available room as soon as it popped up. I read on here that FQ is often excluded from discounts, so instead of doing all 4 nights there, we switched to 2 nights at Coronado Springs (eligible for discount) and 2 nights at FQ. That way it's the best of both worlds - we save some money on already cheaper resort (CSR), and we still get to experience FQ :) Just something to think about!

No problem. The thing to remember is that the promo's are meant to fill empty rooms. The Port Orleans resorts will fill-up regardless if there is a promo going on or not
