Stated Opening Time vs. Actual Opening Time

Anyone who has been recently or our most appreciated CM's, what is the current situation regarding opening times? When we were there last spring the parks were not opening until the stated opening time but in years past they opened 30 minutes ahead. Also wondering about effect of Extra Magic Opening, particularly at MK. If stated opening is 9am and extra magic is at 8am what time would you get to the turnstiles? Thanks for your input!

Was there last week, and the Magic Kingdom opened maybe 5 minutes early one day - other than that, we got only the stated opening times (which really wasn't a problem - the parks were pretty empty). We usually planned to arrive 15 minutes before park opening, it worked pretty well.

However, this varies depending on season, as you probably know. If I was there in the summer, I'd still get there very early, at least the first day or two, until I could see what to expect.

I think it also depends on the time of year and whether its peak season - if there is going to be earlier opening then peak season is the time
