The DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) Machine at Star Tours' Starcade is rumored to be replaced by an import DDR Game Machine... DDR Disney's Rave.

Not too suprising to me but interesting, considering that this has not ever been brought to the U.S.'s consoles. I would know considering I'm a DDR fan myself. The soundtrack is here if you want to check out the tracks known from the Japan only game... http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005HQ72/qid=1118176703/sr=1-2/ref=sr_1_2/002-4984850-2066452?v=glance&s=music

Interesting, huh?

It does make sense for Disney to get a japanese version of a DDR machine because the very few American versions really do suck.

Heck, I think the Disney one was the last american version made. All those versions like Extreme are actually not at all American versions but imported version from other countries.

Konami realised that the demand was so great in America for the DDR games that they just let Americans buy the Korean and Japanese versions.

Wow.. I didn't even realize star tours had an arcade attached to it. Huh. The disney rave machine isn't that great either. That song selection is extremely limited. They really need a mix like 4th, 5th, or extreme (6th and 7th.. bah!). They currently have Disney rave at the Space Mountain arcade, where they recently got rid of the joint premium. At least they bumped the song count up to 2 if you play doubles for $1 instead of 1.

EDIT: I just found out that i knew about this arcade.. i just thought it was called the pizza planet arcade. And that is also an import.

The arcade version is also an import. The only legit american versions that ever existed are US 1st mix and USA mix. The US 1st mix is pretty much the worst mix they ever made. I think it's actually at Disney Quest... or it was several months ago.

Not at DisneyQuest anymore... Replaced by a game with 5 spots to hit on the pad, left-down, right-down, left-up, right-up, center...

A game? Thats pump it up! That game rules! I think it is on par with DDR, and certainly better than any DDR mix they have at Disney. Last time I was at Quest they had both PIU and DDR machines.

The Disney version of DDR for the PS1 is awful.

Of course, I'm slightly a DDR nut, so maybe I just expected better.

Disney Mix/Disney's Rave was released for PlayStation in both Japan and the US.

The original import sported a large number of golden oldies including Johnny Be Good and the Twist. It also had a Disney song that was cut from the domestic release in the form of the Main Street Electrical Parade (which is on the coin-op, but not on the US home version).

The US version of the game has fewer songs, and has replaced many of the classics with crappy songs that no one danced to on 3rd mix.

I miss the 3rd Mix bootleg machine they had at Pizza Planet at MGM. It had the korean songs that absolutely rule there.

If you have any questions of games, never hesitate to ask. I bet my knowledge exceeds anyone likely to troll these boards. Heck my gaming collection numbers over 2000 games- plus I hold 3 gaming world records. I used to be a famous gaming expert... now I'm a bit of a fallen angel.

In epcot, what are the two games they have there? Is it the Japan Version of DDR Rave and the Jungle Book DDR?
I've been looking for the two games that they have for free there to play at home. The Jungle book game can be easily found on Ebay for a reasonable price, but all of the Disney Rave DDR games are outrageously priced.....95.00 and up!
Grim Grinner....what I guess I'm really asking here, is there any way for me to obtain the DDR they use in Epcot (and at a fairly reasonable price?)
Thanks!

And 2000 games....whew! That's quite an expensive collection!

I believe the Disney DDR they have at epcot is just the Disney us mix that they released for PS1, and its just playing on a PS1 with some custom pads. Those pads are also annoying in the fact that they are flat, and it is very hard for your feet to tell where the buttons are (unlike the arcade pads where they are recessed). Plus, playing double would be a pain since they separate the pads by about a foot. Heh.

I didn't realize they ever had the bootleg there. That's pretty cool. It's the mix I first learned to play on. Good stuff. Although locking yourself to SSR for an entire playset was annoying ;)

Hmmmm.....so it was released in the US at one point in time? It just annoys me that people are selling bootleg/burned copies of it on Ebay for nearly 100 bucks. I just want to play it in my own living room!

Are you talking about the Star Tours in WDW? Where is the arcade?? I've never noticed it before.

That's what I thought at first, but apparently its the one in the building attached to pizza planet (across from muppetvision).

Wrong, I think, Starcade is across from S.T. by the gift shop (not Tatooine Traders). There is also a sitting room next to it for the Pizza Planet Customers but the restaurant itself is not attached to Starcade
