Why are they both in the parks? Not throwing hate towards either but wouldn't Starbucks have asked for exclusive agreement? I believe Jofferys was there before but not sure on that
Starbucks drinks are more involved than what can be integrated easily into the "regular" QSRs on property. Lattes etc. would require counter space and prep time that they just don't have at Flame Tree, Cosmic's, Seasons, etc. So Starbucks is the specialty vendor and is branded as such. Joffrey's is just their supplier for "regular" coffee. It's like when they used to have McDonald's french fry carts here and there in the parks. You'd still get some other company's brand of french fries with your burger at Cosmic Ray's.Why are they both in the parks? Makes sense! Didn't think about it that way.Starbucks drinks are more involved than what can be integrated easily into the "regular" QSRs on property. Yeah I think the guests who get a Starbucks coffee are specifically looking for Starbucks Coffee while the guest who gets Joffrey's just wants "coffee," period.Makes sense! Didn't think about it that way.

That Joffrey's coffee is darker then Starbucks!Yeah I think the guests who get a Starbucks coffee are specifically looking for Starbucks Coffee while the guest who gets Joffrey's just wants "coffee," period.
Or some of can't stand the taste of Joffrey's. I don't like the taste of Starbucks (it's too strong and gets bitter fast) but at least I can get a cafe americano at Starbucks.Yeah I think the guests who get a Starbucks coffee are specifically looking for Starbucks Coffee while the guest who gets Joffrey's just wants "coffee," period.
I totally agree. Not to mention, the calories in most of these drinks are astronomical, like more than a Big Mac. And, then people get a 500+ calorie lemon pound cake or muffin to accompany their drink. I don't count or crunch calories, but those numbers are just staggering to me, especially for drinks.Starbucks drinks are more involved than what can be integrated easily into the "regular" QSRs on property. I totally agree. Starbucks coffee tastes totally burnt to me, it's awful. Their Blonde Roast is much better, so you may want to give that a try.I don't like the bitterness (to me) of Starbucks and am glad to have the Joffery's alternative. Joffery's pastries are also 'the bomb' for me (do we still use that phrase); now if they had sit down/in structure seating I would, then, be the ultimate highly satisfied 'camper'.
There is tea available in the resorts and I always bring my own teabags (usually Twinings) into the parks and get a cup of hot water. Can I ask about tea? I am going to sound typically British now, but is tea available around the parks? I know when I visited New York we found tea in Starbucks, but I don't know about Joffrey's. I always think of Game of Thrones when I see that name.![]()
There's a very nice tea stand at Animal Kingdom with some nice varieties to choose from. Can I ask about tea? I am going to sound typically British now, but is tea available around the parks?
I don't believe it's actually as much due to a darker roast as it is a bolder brew. In other words, they use more beans to brew their coffee for the same volume of water. This gives it the strong flavor and the higher caffeine content. Darker roast coffee actually has less caffeine than lighter roast, so if Stabucks were just a darker roast it would have less caffeine, but that isn't the case.I've never understood the "burnt" thing people mention about Starbucks, sometimes. They roast their beans darker than, say, McDonalds, but that darker flavor is what made them so massively popular. Joffrey's is, at least, a huge upgrade from the Nescafé they used to serve.
Joffrey's adds alcohol!!! (Especially helpful on a 40 degree night visiting the Osbourne Lights).
Will Starbucks do that?!?!
