I have never done the Star Wars Weekends and next year will be another year where I won't have the chance to do them. The one thing I am hoping for is that they do another Star Wars event at Hollywood Studios next August like they did last year since Star Wars Celebration VI is being held in Orlando once again.

I have my fingers crossed for that as well.

Can't wait this will be our first time at Star Wars weekends I'm still kicking myself for not going last year. After riding Star Tours 12 times in september and getting to meet Peter Mayhew and Tom Kane at a local comic con it will be a day long remembered(or weekend). Those two were really cool we also got to meet Terry Naughton who illustrated Peter Mayhew's childrens book and who worked for Disney he was super nice to my wife(she is visually impaired) it was like a small preview to SWW. When do they usually announce the guest list would like to see James Arnold Taylor do his show in person it looked really cool online.

Ditto. I'm really mad I missed the Indiana Jones/Jedi show. I really wish they'd bring it back every year for SWW.
I got tickets for Last Tour the moment they went on sale and have not regretted it for a second. It was one of the best evenings I have every spent in a theme park second only to Epcot's 25th. If they bring it back and I still draw breath I will be there.

Episode I in 3D is being released soon so it will be interesting to see how this plays into SWW.

Geez. Thanks for rubbing it in. :D

I was hoping they'd do the same kind of event again for the re-opening of the ride. Hopefully, we'll get lucky for Celebration VI.

How many people were there? Did it seem successful?

I've always wanted to go for Star Wars Weekend but I always thought it would be too crowded to enjoy it. How are the crowds compared to say the summer at peak times or New Years eve?

Crowds were fair. Small enough to let you have the run of the park but not large enough for me to think that the event was an incredible success.

The crowds are very heavy. Definitely on par with summer peak but not quite as bad as New Years. The key is to get to the parks well before opening, use the early EMH on Saturday, and pick and choose what you want to do. Getting autographs will require a much different plan and much earlier arrival time. Shows and characters are easier to do but attractions will have to take a back seat.

I'll probably make one SWW. Not sure about Celebration VI yet. I made V and Last Tour. Jedi Temple of Doom was the best part. I think there was a big enough crowd. Just not sure they have the draw to do the event again. Almost would have to make a Star Wars version of Fantasmic to come up with something different.

I want to plan a trip for my husband, are there any weekends that are better than the others? or less crowded? I was thinking about getting to Disney the week before the first star wars weekend and then our last weekend at Disney would be the the first star wars weekend in May. This way to avoid the crowds the first week we are there. Or, just bite the bullet and go for 2 full weekends of Star wars, I just hate the crowds though...

We went the second weekend of SWW and the park was basically empty until later in the day/afternoon. They also opened about an hour early for everyone that was there. If they continue with the wrist band and fastpass concept and there is one particular actor you want to see I would suggest getting to the park as early as possible.

Anyone know when we can expect to see more info on SWW for this year? I've already booked my flight down and I just pray I picked a good weekend for celebs. *crosses fingers*
