Star Wars-Journey to the Dark Ride

I can see there are many fans of both Star Wars and WDW. A lot of talk has been said lately about a new Star Tours simulation ride. Why not scrap the simulator? Make it a dark ride. Combine the best aspects of the Spiderman ride at Universal (have never rode it, but just what have read) with the Great movie Ride. What if every scene was a Star Wars scene. That way Disneyland could keep a new updated Star Tours simulator. In Fla, the new dark ride. As many Star Wars fans as there are, they would flood both parks to ride the new rides. How cool would it be, to tell the whole story from Phantom to Jedi? This is getting me way too excited for something that will never happen. Just in our minds.

I'd go on it, thats for sure. This last trip I was bored to death by Star Tours. The video is getting grainy, the effects of flight are't as good as before, and the entire ride vibrates and buzzes like it's going to fall apart. I think it's been shook to death.

Yeah, count me in with the Star Tours detractors. It was cool the first time, but now every time I go on it, I get really queasy. The theming while you're walking is in AWESOME, but that's about it for me.

Unfortunately, Star Wars dark ride would be as incredible as it is unlikely. *sniffle*

Great idea, but will never happen. They will probably make a new Star Tours simulation that will be cool the first time you ride it, but suck more and more every time you ride. They'll never have the guts to use your idea, which is 100 times better.

Yup, we're out on Star Tours too, did it last month for the first time in ten years, it was awful...it really hurt my back!

I just returned from a quick run down to WDW, and I must agree, a conceptual change rather than just an "update" would be in order.... not a refurb, but lets use the latest effects technology..... you know the whole Star Wars franchise actually lends itself to a hybrid approach between a dark ride, and Soarin...

I'm thinking if RotS continues to do extremely well we might see an attraction worthy of the Star Wars theme.

It would take a major investment but a star wars ride similiar to spiderman would be incredible. I wonder if they would need permision to do something like spiderman?

I like Star Tours!
And as for the ride, that is a really cool concept. As long as Episodes 4, 5, and 6 aren't minimized because they totally WIPE THE FLOORS with the new ones. There is no comparison.

Star Tours is being overhauled as mentioned by George Lucas himself. So i think anything is possible...its stupid to stick with the simulator, but how can you dodge it without changing the name of Star Tours.....i dont think they will change its name so im guessing it wont be a HUGE change. Anything is possible, but the theming will have to be similar. A dark ride would be awesome, and I love the whole spider-man type of a ride, and it would also be awesome if it went from first to last...good stuff! cheers to cool ideas, Fritz_and_Ernst! :wave:
