Star Wars birthday

Hi all,
We will be visiting Disney in October for my son's 4th birthday. He has recently become a bit obsessed with Star Wars, and really wants to do Jedi Training Academy, and ride Star Tours (He's tall enough). I was wondering if anyone had any other interesting Star Wars themed birthday ideas.
Suggestions?

I can not really help with the birthday ideas but I can help in regards to Jedi Training. You will want to get to the park before opening and make a bee line to Jedi Training registration as soon as they let you in. They have a very limited number of spaces available and they do fill up quickly.

I will echo yoda on this. We went during a may 2010 star wars weekend. My star wars obsessed son was more pumped for that than wdw. We got there early and there was a mass of humanity waiting to get in. Dhs does a great job keeping the little ones entertained during the wait. Storm troopers and boba fet interact with the kids while they wait. My other advice comes later. After u brave the crowds and race to sign up, and assuming u get there before all the slots are taken, u will be given a jedi class time. Think of this as a fastpass on roids. The fates nearly conspired against me, and my 4 year old son. Luckily we made it in time. They will start without u/ let someone on the waiting list make it into the class. Then ur kid has emotional blackmail material.

They do them year round now. They even went so far as to build a permanent stage.

He watched the videos yesterday, and can't WAIT to meet Vader!
Does disney make any Star Wars bday cakes? Anyone know if they have any character interactions during non- SW weekends?

I do not know of a pre-made Star Wars cake but they should be able to make anything you want (licencing might be an issue) however, the price of custom cakes at Disney is just north of insane. You will rarely see characters outside of Jedi Training and Star Wars Weekends.

If you're interested in getting a custom bday cake while you're there...Yacht & Beach Club's bakery offer's a white chocolate Jedi Mickey as a cake topper. I think the figure alone is $65 (more if you want him painted w/food coloring) and actual cakes will vary price wise based on size, frosting type, other decorations, etc. I think basic buttercream cakes start around $45 and fancy fondant cakes around $75.

If you do order a cake- I'd be very specific when you call- maybe even ask to fax or email over some sketches.

The contact # for their bakery is... 407-934-3105

EDIT- if you want to cut the cost, any of the WDW resort bakeries could do a Star Wars themed cake w/edible images and it would be cheaper than dropping the $65 on the topper...although, it's a neat looking topper.
